I didn’t say he was getting rid of the ball timely, just that he’s getting rid of it. He hasn’t taken any terrible sacks as a result of holding onto it too long. I would still like for him to find his outlet faster when pressured. It’ll come with time though. This Sunday will be his 17th game as a pro. The good news is he’s not making atrocious decisions under pressure.
Exactly! Players are at their best when they are relaxed, confident, and just react, allowing their talent to take over. When they have to think too much or think about being careful and not make a mistake, then they play at much lower level. This is especially true when someone tries not to make a mistake, they usually wind up making one or several. IMO they need to back off soon and let Zach play. He has shown that he has guts. If Saleh and MLF don't, then maybe they need to grow a pair or quit coaching scared. If they can't trust him then either they or he needs to go. As much as I love him and the Jets, if they're going to ruin him or try to make him into something he isn't then I'd rather they trade him to another team where he can maximize his talent and potential.
I've already posted the stats for Wilson and Sanchez through their first 16 games. Stop with this misinformation.
These are damn good defenses he has played. Even Herbert looked average last night. As long as Zach is not turning it over, we start here. they should try and do more TE passes for him even as a first read.
None of this will matter. Our defensive rotation has been fixed, and our OL is sorted. The game is always won in the trenches unless you have an elite QB under center. Jets shouldn’t lose to anyone except the Bills at this moment, if ZW just game manages at this point.
I agree with the first part - obviously. But I think you might be overreacting on Saleh and MLF. I don't think they're going to ruin Zach, and I think they've made it clear to him that he has the freedom to go off schedule if he needs to, they just want him to stick with the game plan as much as possible. I believe they're all on the same page and headed in the right direction.
17 AFCE titles 8 AFC championships 6 Super Bowl wins If it's "their system"... maybe we need to copy some of it... Zappe has outperformed Zach in every metric in their three games this season. I'm not saying Bailey Zappe has more talent than Zach Wilson or is the better quarterback... I haven't seen one Patriot game. But Zach needs to step it up... even within the constraints placed upon him by LaFleur.
How does their system work for other teams when they hire Belidouche’s assistants? Zach has come through for this team when they needed him to step up in the last 3 games.
See, how can anyone take a post like this serious. This reeks of being someone who one just can't have a convo with..
Agree w/everything except that part... They looked good. They made no excuses, showed up and kicked ass but until this line stays healthy AND together for a few games then I'll agree..
okay and Zappe has had one big game (his latest) and he puts up his number against browns. hell flacco had a great game against the browns. wilson had only 21 plays with 3 wides in the entire packers game. obviously the jets committed to running the ball and not throwing it with successful results. do you want the jets to let wilson drop back 40 times so the he can get his numbers or is the object to win the game. Lam
I agree... Zach has made some great plays to help win games... and he played "ok" in his first two games. I've watched every offensive play this season... more than once... and I know he can be better. He's missing open receivers... he's not getting the ball out on time... and he's hesitant to let it rip on timing routes. It's all mental stuff... and therefore fixable. Conversely... I don't think LaFleur is doing Zach any favors with the play calls he's making. My quip about "their system" was made in jest... we all know the Pats suck.
Zappe has a QB rating of over 100 in all three of his games. Like I said... I've not seen a single Patriot game this year... and I'm not saying Zappe is better than Zach. What I am saying is that Zach is not reaching his potential under the constraints our system... which you pointed out with your comment about the lack of 3-wide plays. LaFleur needs to lengthen the leash and let Zach do what he's good at... which we've seen when we've needed winning drives or to ice the game.
Agree 100%. But he's also shown flashes of doing things most other QBs can't do. If he can put it all together - and my opinion is that he will - he's going to be great.
Only if you're dumb. There's nothing wrong in discussing how our team can be better... and we have games coming up where we HAVE to be better. Do you think Zach is playing up to his potential? The answer to that question will define the argument. I slap down hundreds of dollars every week on the Jets to win... not cover... so don't come at me with that darksider shit.
