Correct me if I am wrong but Zach Wilson was a no show until the end of the 3rd qtr The kid owns the 4th qtr and if that's the best he can do for now ...well so be it ( as long as we win lol)
I mentioned this in this game thread but the rain and play calling in the first half played a factor. Guys were slipping all over the place and the ball was slippery as fuck. Throw in MLFs head scratching play calling and that's what you get.
Also they really need to de-emphasize the shotgun. ZW is much worse the minute the backfield is empty except for him.
3 consecutive wins, I'm flabbergasted. How many more weeks until Saleh starts pulling out those receipts?
The stats that ultimately matter is wins, but if the run game wasn’t performing People would be singing a different tune about Zach. Not getting much from the qb position right now if we’re being honest. He had 28 yards on 12 attempts @ the half. That almost seems impossible. Can only hide the qb but for so long. Winning is winning though. Hopefully game managing will be enough until he shows we can let the rope go a little. At the very least let’s try not to continuously throw short of the sticks.
lol I'm kidding..BUT, if he's got some shit in the locker room like they did in Major League, go for it!
Rich Cimini This one is nuts.... The Jets outscored the Packers 10-0 in the 4th quarter and are now +48 in the 4th quarter. That is the 2nd-best 4th-quarter point differential by ANY team through 6 games in the last decade, only behind the 2016 Broncos (+57). Nuts, right? #Jets
Cimini having a tough time coming up with something negative or Pats related when discussing this team. Good.
I still think Dan Orlovsky is a clown but this is quite important praise from a talking head that has morphed into being pretty decent.
Agree 100% but shotgun with RPO seems to be where he's best. No stats to back that up just my drunken observations
While he hasn't had that "signature" game yet, he's actually played well overall. He's 3-0 so far and has played pretty mistake free. He's played within the game plan and hasn't tried to play "hero ball" which got him in trouble his first few games in a Jets uniform. He hasn't been perfect, but he also hasn't let his mistake get him down. And it's not like any other QB is perfect. How'd Rodgers look today? I admit that the first half today was shaky for Zach. He was throwing behind his receivers and not making decisions quickly enough - the two first half sacks were definitely due to him not making a decision quick enough, even if it would've been deciding to throw it away instead of being sacked. But he came out in the 2nd half and looked entirely different - decisive, accurate, crisp fakes - and led them to the win. Again, there's much more to judging a QB beyond stats.
How often have you seen QBs have a poor half followed by a great one? Not saying the 2nd half was great, but it was really efficient. I admit I was worried watching that 1st half...I was thinking that maybe Zach was feeling overwhelmed by playing against his idol, but he bounced back nicely and sowed good mental fortitude by hanging in there.
I'm so happy over this win, but besides the obvious, Aaron Rodgers. Look up douchebag in the dictionary and there's his face. I don't know why this guy has always bothered me so much, but he does. Fck him and his d-bag edgy man bun with his edgy shaved head underneath while I'm at it. There's something about I am so deep that no- one could ever possibly understand me and my deeper than deep CA creative artist horseshit that just screams douchebag. He can be inoculated all he wants but there's no cure for douchebag douchebaggery. GO JETS!
Things I love: 1. Our dline is absolutely dominant--led by Q who is reaching that Donald like potential. Looking forward to getting Jermaine back. 2. This is the best secondary we've had since Revis and Cro--I think it has potential to be better. If we add an elite safety--we recreated the Legion of Boom Saleh had 3. Breece Hall is SPECIAL--I loved drafting him. My friend who works in college football said how special he was and he was right. This kid has potential to be historically great--he does so many things so well. 4. Oline has been very solid, especially considering the injuries 5. CULTURE--it's changing 6. Saleh--he's shown great leadership and the ability to inspire the team....it's been a while Things that are concerning: 1. Zach-most of you already know I've had my doubts so I don't want to cause more arguing haha. But again, my main concern is that I haven't seen him really look like a good NFL starter. He's had flashes, but his ceiling has been game manager. I've said it before, I see a lot of Alex Smith as a ceiling. We need to beat QBs like Allen and Mahomes. 2. Lafluer- I feel like we aren't maximizing the talent at WR or TE--his background is receivers as well. I think this is either a play design problem or a QB problem--either way it's not great news. Overall, I'm very happy about this team--Douglas knows how to build and it is finally showing. My biggest concern is if Zach ends up not being the guy, how do we get that guy and plug him into everything else? We are a good team and wont have a high pick. Good problem! I would guess we would have to trade up, similar to what Buffalo did with Allen or get a vet like Carr. Hope Zach proves me wrong fellas!
