he got some against Armstead a little too no? I know he abused Shell like a red headed step child. But Lawson was awesome. And now the CS realized that Huff is easily one of our best situational pass rushers. Rankins/JLM/Q in the middle. And just go to work.
Huff is fantastic. You notice when he's in the game. He started as an inactive but he's played his way into a regular, significant role. And I think Rankins has been improved this year. Plus Jermaine Johnson has at minimum been an impactful run defender.
It was great to see Lawson getting his shat together, after his injury. Having that force on the edge, may be the biggest factor in raising the whole D to a different level. Aside of his obvious pass rush skills, what impressed me most, was that he gets his responsibility protecting the edge. Seeing him kinda go slow, read pass, then go into pass-rush overdrive was encouraging. Michael Nania on jetsxfactor has a nice film breakdown of Lawson's play against the fins ----> https://jetsxfactor.com/2022/10/12/ny-jets-carl-lawson-edge-film/
To add to everyones points here, the front line is starting to jell, and Lawson, Huff, Q, JFM and Co are taking their game to another level. Good to see a strong 4 man rush
Brian Costello - New York Post This pass rush is for real. The Jets hit Dolphins quarterbacks 16 times on Sunday. It was just the second time in franchise history they had that high a number. Carl Lawson had seven quarterback hits on Sunday, a career-high. He is the only Jet to register seven hits in a single game since 2000 and is one of only 15 players in the NFL to have done so. John Franklin-Myers was right there with him, hitting the quarterback five times. Only the Browns’ Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney have also both had five quarterback hits in a game for a team over the last two years.
This was from yesterday. Looks like it's not that bad if JJ is already day-to-day. He might not suit up this weekend but I don't think this will be one that impacts him long-term.
There were some clues found ..... If there's a sighting this week we may finally have a break in the case...
Definite break in the case...Seemed his injury was kinda holding him back. He's absolutely contributing big time rn. I believe this one is solved.
