It’s week 5 and until at least week 7 we control our destiny for the division… and I want to go to a home playoff game. As far as the wildcard goes, 3 teams are getting in and I don’t see 3 teams who have a better chance than us. The tie in the South is going to mess up the strength of schedule for the West and the South. 2023? Sure, we’re only getting better - but why not this year? Edit: I added a poll to see how the numbers swing through the season.
Getting way ahead of yourself. Still a long way to go before we start talking playoffs. Just enjoy the win
I did not expect the team to start 3-2 with the schedule they have, but I'm not even thinking of playoffs at this point. This year is all about development, chemistry and Wilson taking a step forward from last year. IMO, 7-8 wins is a successful season, and it's good to see they are ahead of that pace, but there are many really tough games remaining.
My crazy response is If we have 5 wins at the midpoint we can be dangerous. But that’s a tough front end schedule. I’m happy with 7 or more wins this year.
And just think only two weeks ago posters like KOB were saying to enjoy the Jets lucky win in Cleveland because the Jets aren’t going to win another game this year …
Just about any team can make the playoffs nowadays with a lucky bounce or two - Jets included. That being said I don’t see it happening with the 2022 Jets - at least not at this point. Zach probably has some more growing pains in his future - a couple of clunkers - and the OL isn’t exactly on solid ground yet. I’m sticking to my 7 maybe even 8 wins prediction.
As long as the team stays healthy, the Jets are only going to get better. Playoffs are certainly possible this season. The AFC is tough, but maybe the Jets are starting to become tough too.
While I'd love to see this team get to the playoffs, if only to experience them, as part of the learning process... who cares? I'm just enjoying the ride, watching all the younguns learning about the NFL, & learning how to win.
I am former darksider now! Honest Injun The first couple of weeks of the season and in pre season my philosophy was 17 losses and a Win is a Miracle ..take it But this team is a scrappy group and the Draft class is pushing us to the next level A win against A Rogers next week?? The Giants did it ..So nothing would surprise me if we get a Victory in GReen Bay If we win against the Better Teams well that is quite a measuring stick
Bro, posts like this is why we get laughed at and the trolls pile on. Lets keep being optimistic and more importantly keep this unexpected fun going. Our rookies look great, and we are winning. Can we take a minute to enjoy this moment without looking to far ahead?
The AFC is a lot weaker than people thought going into the season. I think if we stay relatively healthy we’ll have a shot at a wildcard…why not
Still Bills and Pats twice to play. Those are the games to see if Wilson is the real deal and rest of the team. Those defenses are ferocious and write manifestos on thrashing QBs. Let’s see if we can go 50/50. Then playoffs here we come!
Too much luck in these wins to expect playoffs. At some point, we're going to have to beat a team playing their starting QB.
Next 3 opponents are bottom half in the league in defending the run, P*ts and Green Bay are 11th and 12th worst. Jets just need to keep Hall and Carter producing to have a shot at 5 wins after 8 games
You don't think I enjoy the wins? Strange My post was to the over reaction of calls of we're going to the playoffs, as evidenced when we lost the second game and the calls were for everybody to be sacked again. Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed but you do enjoy the unexpected wins. A lot of people were still unhappy campers in the game thread even when we were winning. I look forward to you name checking their negativity in the near future Also, this K'OB is known for saying JD is on the right path and 23/24 will be a good year.
