Whew! It's funny, some of Jets blogdom is calling this more bad news. Me, I think it's great that odds are he'll be back sooner than later... not season-ending.
That is good news, I was worried as he has been a (relatively) bright spot on the o-line. It still leaves us scrambling in the short term Are any of our new signings ready to step in yet?
I read that he gained 10-15 lbs this off-season which was one of the concerns about him playing this year.
Thanks for the update. 4-5 weeks then? https://www.nfl.com/news/jets-lt-mekhi-becton-suffered-knee-cap-dislocation-in-loss-to-panthers.
This is great! The Jets medical staff however is not and they don’t have a particularly good track record when it comes to knees. See Becton, M.
As someone who dislocated my knee and basically destroyed it and all ligaments . I'll be surprised if he returns quickly. While my injury is rare knee dislocation is no joke nor a normal injury
He'll be up another forty or fifty by the time his knee is good. Whenever that is supposed to be is up to the first Tweeting jagoff who puts out a number, if we follow recent trends.
I see Rapport is covering himself by saying he should be back before the end of the season. Not a lot of info here but Becton had a dislocated knee cap last year? If it is not as serious it can be treated non-surgically and be moved back into place with movement or manually by a doctor. The Jets really give us so little information on injuries. Look at Brown so little information about what actually is even wrong. The FO could certain control fan expectations a lot better by giving us more information on injuries. is their silence on injuries to prevent other teams getting knowledge or a reaction to the backlash from Becton's injuries?
Given all the other O Line injuries we've already suffered, I'd say this is "OK News" not "Great News". Great news would be out a week. This is still a significant injury that hurts us. Can't believe the crap luck we continue to have with that unit.
He won't be back soon FOR CERTAIN. This is an injury that gotta be watched. Hopefully he won't need surgery, but if it dislocated again he will.
We're so jaded as Jets fans, when one of the players gets injured, we're thrilled when it's not a season-ending injury.
I figgered that today would be the day, we'd learn the severity of MM's injury. Thus far, he hasn't been put on IR, so maybe it isn't as severe as it could've been. With Brown coming off IR, hopefully, things on the OL will stabilize sooner than later,
I've wondered for awhile: Don't offensive linemen wear knee braces that are intended to protect against knee injuries? If so, why don't they work better??
