Yes we bitch about the kid a lot. He threw 2 INT's during the game but when we needed him the most, he stayed strong and delivered. Last drive of the game, he was 100% accurate. 5 for 5.. Threw for 57 yards and scored a 114.2 Rating as a QB. He still has a long way to go but let's give the kid the benefit of the doubt and support him. Delivering a win against Steelers at home in his first game after a year ain't easy... Thank you kid for this performance. Godspeed!!!
What doesn't show up in the stats is that all game long, Zach showed ridiculous mobility and pocket awareness that allowed him to play behind 5th- and 6th-string OTs while taking only one sack. Not many NFL QBs could have done that -- I think most mobile QBs would have ended the day with at least a few sacks, and the less mobile ones would have had 5-6. That escapability allowed us to sustain drives that made everything else possible.
Many have said it already but this game looks totally different if Flacco is under center. Jets probably set the NFL record for most sacks allowed. Zach’s mobility was a big factor in today’s game.
He's got a lot to clean up, but you can see the talent. For 3 quarters, it was an extension of last year. In the 4th quarter, he was fantastic. Was that him shaking off the rust in the first 3 quarters and showing a big step forward in the 4th quarter? If so, we could have something here. But he needs to stop some of his accuracy issues.
The kid is a gamer, and has been his entire career. Of course he looked much better at BYU playing behind a good OL and against non-pro competition, but he has what it takes to succeed. Now, if they can get him a decent OL, and better play calling, he'll look even better. Going 5-5 down the stretch in a very hostile environment takes cajones and he pulled it off, along with the rest of the offense. Now, just stay healthy kid!
Seems like the guys predicting Zach would get killed behind this OL were kinda right. They need to fix this shit and fast...
Zach was better in the pocket today... Much better than when he rolled out. His OL gave him time to get his rhythm going and we saw the results. Today may have been a growing moment for the OL too.
I hope the OL will look better next week. Ideally Duane Brown comes back and gives us some solid play at LT but I’m not sure what we do at RT now with Max down. Maybe Oghuebi or Remmers can be decent if it’s serious.
This was the first big boy drive of his career. Couldn’t have been any more impressed with him after the 4th quarter.
I was only able to watch the game in spurts... but everytime I looked up... Zach was running around like a headless chicken. I'll watch the game when I get home from work.
Zach had 2 interceptions when he really should’ve had 4. He’s still a interception machine playing hero ball. Thankfully we played a dreadful Steelers team. If we played any other team, we probably lose by 3 tds. But he came through today when it mattered. I’ll blame today on rust. Next week will be a big test
Just please remember what we saw!!...Wilson and the Team the Coaches dog shitted their way for 3 Qtrs People here have amnesia over the 100s of bad comments versus Conklin Zach Saleh and Mike LaFleur And then next thing ya know everything clicks perfectly in the 4th qtr Still in a state of shock
Well their Defense is still excellent. Just their offense that's pathetic. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
