Zach - 5 for 5, & coming through in the clutch, on the final drive... & overcoming the stupid mistakes. I'll save my absolute dislike for this CS, for another time. Enjoy folks...
For as many things that this team is doing that pisses me off… the 2 wins were in absolute non soj fashion.
The trauma of being a NYJ fan for so many years easily brings out the darkside of my fandom for this team. We are so used to these type of games easily going the other way, I was convinced we were going to throw this game away. In SOJ fashion. Yet.. we have pulled off two wins, two improbable wins, without the SOJ mantra attached to It. Hopefully these wins can come a little easier at some point though.
I will give credit where credit is due, Zach came through in crunch time, that pass to GW on the second to last drive was his best throw of the day! Found CD on 4th down and later again for the TD and as OP said, 5 for 5, 57 yards on that last drive. That said, I can't stand these killer penalties and bone headed plays anymore, felt like the Jets should have won this one more comfortably, and it felt like they just might for a minute early on. Now to focus on the Fins and tie them up with us at a 3-2 record next week!
I have to love how hard this team plays every single play and never gives up. It would have been so easy to have given up and let Pittsburgh celebrate their next franchise QB coming out party, Kudos to the players and the CS.
moving AVT to tackle was a move very few thought of but the best thing you could have done. Plus he does have the experience there. Zach def escaped a few sacks there. Need the athleticism back there.
Actually that was near miraculous. I swear the Steelers damn near brought him down on a hand off in the 3rd quarter.
True... Zach was running for his life on some plays. That flea flicker was a miracle that it was only a incompletion.
Zach seems to be stuck on bullet pass mode. I think LaFleur might have gone insane. Our offensive game plan seems to be to throw everything at the wall and hope something sticks. We won. I’m giddy, and glad that it was worth staying up till 4am for a change. But it’d be nice to win a game comfortably, without taking years off my life every time. We were 10-0 up, forced another 3 interceptions (should have been 4) and still I’ve no fingernails left.
Agreed, as soon as Pickett came in, I felt that tide shift. Been there, done that, TONS of times, but somehow they pulled it out. Very weird feeling.
I have no idea what MLF is trying to accomplish, but he's on my radar more than Ulbrich. First down is a black hole, you can predict the call over half the time. Again, I just have no idea what his plan is
