Unfortunately, probably not my friend! PTO is pretty tight this year. Hopefully I'll be able to come back up next year though.
This is the “house divided” week for me and my wife. Her and her entire family are steelers fans. I hope the Jets win so I can hear them moan and cry about how bad the steelers are. It makes my heart happy when the Jets beat the steelers. Mostly because they are so fucking stuck up about the steelers. They fucking cry when they only win 9 games. I love my my wife and her family but the steelers can fuck off!! J! E! T! S! JETS! JETS! JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have a valid one-two punch in the backfield. We also have the highest pass play percentage (75%) in the league... by a lot! LaFleur needs to settle down and find a better balance.
These are games Robert Saleh should be judged by. I personally feel the Jets have the edge in most categories. The Pittsburgh crowd is the only clear advantage the Steelers have. The Jets not only need to play a competitive game, but they need to win. A rusty Zach Wilson is better than Joe Flacco at 100% too. No excuses.
If the Dolphins lose tonight ( I think they will) and the Jets win at Pitt then week 5 is a first place showdown with the Fins. They would be 3-1 with the Jets 2-2. It also depends on what the Bills do in Baltimore. Do I expect the Jets to win the division or even make the playoffs...No I don't. But it would be nice to play some meaningful games especially at MetLife against one of our biggest rivals. That will happen next week if the Jets win and the Dolphins lose.
So far the Jets have lost to 2 teams that would expect to be contending for the Division title and in serious playoff contention at the very least. And beaten another who would probably have at the same level but for the Watson suspension and still are probably hoping to sneak into playoff contention. The Steelers aren't in the same class. I expect them to finish last in the AFCN, probably comfortably now that Watt is out. This is game the Jets can definitely win. If it was at MetLife I might say should win.
Another week, another opportunity for the Jets to look like they have no freaking clue how to play football.
I dunno man... Saleh's seat is warming up and the entire CS is on notice that the systems aren't working. They know they have to start winning PDQ or things really will get almost as ugly as they were near the end of Gase's run. They're not quite in a corner yet, but things are starting to close in on them. Point being? They have to win and they better start winning soon.
That’s not the way I look at it. That might be the outcome, but I expect the opposite. I expect to see a team that came prepared to do battle with a solid game plan.
Jets to wear white jerseys with black pants tomorrow….and in Pittsburgh no less. Why Woodie? https://twitter.com/woodyjohnson4/status/1575953364705505280
Hopefully Saleh will finally start to figure out that the running game should be used, a lot. We have two quality running backs, and a banged up OL. It’s much easier for these guys to run block rather than pass protection. Zach is a student of the game. Hopefully he has absorbed even more watching. He needs to manage the game, and please learn to slide. In my opinion, we should cut Flacco loose, and use the other 2 QB’s as backups. We have a few old timers that really aren’t making a difference. I’m taking the Jets due to Zach being back, and the urgency for the CS to get their shit together.
