We have enough talent to be more competitive than we are. I'm not ready to ship everyone out of town but when the time comes I want proven coaches with experience
I’ll throw out there that I really like what Pederson is doing down there with Lawrence. But with all due respect to the whole situation they caught the Chargers in a really bad spot. Herbert playing with broken ribs even if they had extended rest is no good for the Chargers. He should’ve sat this week out and gotten 20 days of rest.
Weird that no one answered your question…. Pederson wanted to take a year off so he didn’t interview anywhere 2 years ago when we were looking to hire.
Why do the Johnsons frighten good Coaches away from taking this job?? I guess I can expect 25 different replies here heh
Indeed, and their OL has been decimated with injury to their top players to the point it makes our OL look good.
Cause the fans were against him. When was the last time we had a super bowl winning coach? Those are the types you need to be hiring. Enough with the latest hot assistant coach. The Jets have been dismal in that department.
Perfectly said. I was on the McCarthy train cause he was offensive and had experience with a top flight QB and the Jets were headed toward drafting one in Wilson.
7 and 9 is like Super Bowl around here. That would progress instead once again it's season over before October.
Honestly I'm not sure after 20 games. But I've seen enough of McCarthy to know he's fucking trash. Carry on
Especially the ones on this board. You think in the media capital of the world the Jet's We can probably go back to the Bellichek hiring disaster. He was anointed to replace Bill Parcells and on the day he was to be hired he declined the Jets. The NFL took notice that maybe it's Woody. That was embarrassing and really a dick move by Bellichek. He could have pulled Johnson aside and said he would not be taking the job because he had a better offer with more responsibilty. Or say he didn't want to be under Parcells.
“It was a great year for me, it was a great year for me,” said Pederson, named head coach of the Jaguars on Thursday. “I had opportunities to get back in the NFL at the end of the season last year, but I just felt like at the time I needed a break. I needed to step away and kind of just refocus myself, kind of recenter everything about me.” Pederson was also betting favorite to land in NY. That means according to the odds, the opportunities Pederson is talking about were the Jets! Maybe it was a bad break for us, and we will never know for sure, but odds point to JD actually going after him, but he wanted to take a break. He wasn't in the cards for JD, as simple as that.
Not sure? The Jets look like garbage every week. Players are screaming at coaches on the sidelines. All phases look terrible. The Jets have talent just not on the sidelines.
Plenty was against Pederson and you have to believe the Jets with the largest media in the country take everything into account. Can they handle the media and fans? I would say Saleh fails in that department.
