My two cent teammates. This match up will tell us a lot about the mindset and resolve of each team top playmakers and in which direction the season will take them. In one corner, Cincinnati is angry and mortified for their performances and coming to Metlife with much to prove, in a season of huge expectations only to fall victims to two ugly loses. A cheap missed field goal on game one that would have sealed the victory was brutal. Can they put it behind them.Their team, OL non withstanding, is much better than the record. The Jets on the other hand, need to very quickly come down from the high of last week , an uncommon feeling for them, punctuated by both relentless play but a golden gift from the Browns to give us the ball back. There are young and not sure if they have the weatherall to stay focused and hungry, forget last week, continue to play hard with a chip on their shoulders and an underdog mentality. They need to take over the game early and keep them down. Not an easy task. Our D needs to step it up a notch, we need to dominate their OL and our O need to be relentless with the run game. I think we have a decent chance, and the fans will be great, but we better be prepared, with a flexible game plan, and no crucial mistakes. The one thing I'm confident again as I forecasted last week, is another great game by #17, who is rapidly becoming my favorite Jet. He will shine in front of his home crowd, as he continues down the path to become the #1 receiver we all been dreaming off. Without him, last week would have been a loss, so yeh, I couldn't be happier. He is exciting as hell. Awesome pick JD. A++. Go Jets
Pretty much, yes, in recent years. And I've rarely been wrong. I mean honestly, if Chubb steps out of bounds at the one instead of scoring, as he should have, Sunday was another loss and the vibe around here would be very different. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled about what happened, and I hope they can build on it!
The problem I have with that outlook is simply this, the “if” is always if the other team would have done this or that, we would be 0-2, versus if the Jets would have actually done this and that to minimize mistakes we could be 2 and 0.
You my friend are becoming one of my favorite football critics on this board. I enjoy your posts a lot. Awesome post again.
sozo I think you are missing one thing. We are celebrating the win but more than that, a lot of us love the fact that Jets came behind 13 points under 2 minutes. Chubb no Chubb, previous Jets teams would have folded. Not this team though.
Many thanks. I enjoy the camaraderie and free exchange of passionate info with all the fans here. I look forward to meet many of you loyal season ticket holders on my next trip back to MetLife. It’s been a while.
The Bengals are a 4.5-point favorite, according to Tipico Sportsbook. The Bengals are -210 on the moneyline in the game, which will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Jets are +175. The over/under for the game is set at 43.5 points. Jets and the over? THIS IS winnable! But... we'll see
Do what I do. Bet money on Jets losing. If they win, as a fan you are happy. If they lose, at least your bet won.
And that's a great point. We've been handed wins on a silver platter and managed to fuck it up somehow.
Jets and the over. The defense finally feasts and the Bengals can’t stop Jets win by more than 6. Book it.
Fair points, both. Believe me, I was exulting that they got that win. I am 54 years old and have always been a devoted Jets fan. I think part of the issue with me is that I am not completely sold on Zach. I am a believer in Saleh, unlike some of you, but ownership is trash so it's an uphill climb. It's a battle. I'll be rooting for Zach in two weeks.
Remember this offense is supposed to make any QB look good. Jimmy G and Goff to the SB? Tua looking like a top 5 QB? Mike White to the Hall of Fame? Has the game slowed down for Zach yet? Idk but the Steelers don’t have a pass rush so it’s a good game for him to come back to. The ZW from the 2nd half of last year is good enough to get some wins. A ZW living up to his potential is good enough to make a playoff run.
ZW hasn't shown the capacity to make the high volume of accurate throws that Flacco has made in the last two games. One of the things that stands out about Flacco's performance so far is that when the play has been a quick pass or when he has had protection he has made a lot of on-target throws. As a vet he understands the importance of placing the ball where the WR can best take advantage of it. He also has pretty good touch on the throws, feathering screens out and putting zip on the ball when needed.
Which is also a good lesson for Zach. You don't have to be perfect. You can make mistakes and move on to the next play. You don't have to try to be a hero every play. I think Flacco has been a great example of that the first two games. Flacco has a lot of flaws, but his strength is truly being able to move on to the next play like it is nothing. That is much harder to do than it looks in the NFL.
I think if you like the Jets you like the under. It’d mean we held the bengals offense . I think Jets team total o20.5 would be a better bet with the ml if you’re bent on playing a parlay. I’ll probably play the tt straight
