...to this day is M.I.A. Was added to a team to be the guy. Has yet to be....ANYTHING To this day, the NY JETS have paid $45,000,000 for 2 tackles. Achilles? Rust? Weight? Any other excuse you can think of? AORN, this case has gone cold.
Most of our defense was MIA for the game. No big plays but they kept the team in the game for 90% of the game. That's all you want.
He was never a really good player to begin with. The Jets made that up to justify his signing while Trey Hendrickson went on to anchor the defense that went to the SB.
Unless things change, he’ll definitely be cap casualty after the season. We can have the rookies JJ and Clemons start next year and save $$$$$
The reality of free agency in the NFL is that most of the players on the market are either very over-priced - which is why they did not re-sign with their current team - or they are middle class players that their team did not see as a priority to retain or they are past their prime and their team saw that as an impediment to signing them beyond the next season. A small number of players are problems due to hidden defects, either physical or emotional, and wind up on the market for that reason. Of the entire crop of free agents in a given year there may be a half-dozen that might genuinely help a contending team at the price they are seeking. For a non-contender there generally is *no* reason to sign a free agent at the bloated prices that the free agent market produces. Non-contenders are much better off trying to find value sorting through the draft and the chaff that UDFA's represent. Occasionally a non-contender may find a secondary free agent who is young and motivated enough to grow with the team but most of the time when the non-cons participate in free agency it is just to draw a fig leaf over the fact that they're a bad team and the signings don't change that. The Jets are a case in point for all of the above.
The biggest concern about the TE play at this point is that apparently the Jets think it is a wise use of resources to have 2 and even occasionally 3 of them on the field and *not* run the ball out of that formation. When you are taking 2 good WR's off the field for 2 TE's you really need to be using that size for something that helps you control the game state.
I was wondering the same thing. I don’t remember hearing his name called at all. We still can’t sack the qb.
You just know he's going to have a big game next sunday though against his old team, the Bengals, and their weak OL
Not sure if Uzomah was hurt or a healthy scratch but they only played with 2 TE’s today. And I’m sure Conklin got almost if not all the snaps at the TE with Ruckert getting a few here n there. It was clear the Jets we’re gonna go 3 wide for most of the game.
Dude might as well retire at halftime, no show against the worst ranked O-line in the NFL, Joe Burrow has ALL DAY to throw.
Not 1 play he's made.. NOT 1. I hope he's still hurt because if not this is one of the BIGGEST JD mistakes...
