Saleh has a 5 year contract which likely means he gets at least 4 years. He is not going anywhere soon. This is year 2 of the rebuild and will be given 3 years before there is even a chance of him being let go.
Nah it’s still dumb because you’re using a small sample size. We’re going to start seeing plenty of $200 million quarterbacks winning SB’s because that’s where the game has gone. In 2005, it wasn’t gear towards the QB being the most impactful player on the field by 2-3x like it’s moved to these days.
I think you are right to be let go before 3 years a NY Jet coach either has to have a Kotite year or some really bad internal behavior or mental health issues like Groh and Mangini.
But the fans believe this is a desirable place to play and coach, its part of the insanity of being a Jets fan
I’m so tired of being the place coaches go to intern. Can we get a real, experienced coach one of these years (not some ridiculous retread reach like Gase).
as much as i wanna jump on board ...you gotta give it time. These guys just turned into their 20's and have just played their 1st NFL game.. Saleh is here as a Coach and Mentor and the only reason you hire him is because you think they can build something long term. I see him as a Tomlin/Dungy type. THAT SAID, THIS is the year the JETS MUST show something...most likely that will be in the 2nd half of the season. There are just too many spots that are at square 1 and that's on both sides of the ball. The quicker they grow up, the quicker we get more gooderereerrrrr. Unfortunately their demise may be putting their eggs into a BYU kid.....
I’m not done with Saleh yet, but I’m getting there. LaFleur took a huge step back in my eyes today too.
You do realize it was the Jets that Jackson beat only completing 56.6% of his passes and throwing for 213 yds, right?
If the Jets went all in and got Lamar Jackson in the offseason, I could handle one more mess of a season.
When was the last time the Jets had a QB who averaged a 56.6% completion rate and 3,600 + yards in a season?
Yeah. You don't don't want a proven, yet still young former MVP who wins a ton of games as your QB. Let's draft more Wilsons and Darnolds.
Do you have measurable evidence of roster quality reducing significantly as a result of a QB getting paid? On a player by player basis. The cap isn't nearly as restrictive as it once was, teams tend to know what to do now to escape or manipulate even the deepest cap hells... Like, there has to be quality out there too you know. Poor O-lines being a more common thing isn't because a team overpaid their roster, there simply isn't enough talent out there to fill all the spots securely across all teams. It also has to be mutual. Some players aren't ever going to want to go to the Lions for instance lol
Ugh Please buy his ass out Do you really want more suffering bro?? He will carry on with his inept coaching contract or not ...please tell me exactly what he contributes to the "rebuild" ? The Browns cut their losses and hired Stefanski which turned out fine
