Well Zach made it seem like there wasn’t this timeline to be ready by game 1. He hasn’t ramped up his activity in practice so he’s basically still getting the knee back to 100%. You can be wary of the initial timeline and fans are scorned from the Becton injury but seems like this was the real point he’d return which is week 4. It would have been tough to ramp up so quickly and have basically 2 practices after missing the real ramp up of practice right before the games.

 

Well, one thing it did today was reveal that Wilson has not even run on the leg since his injury. There was also the unnecessary (unless it was significant) reference to Wilson's state of mind and Wilson's own statement Wednesday "For what the injury was, I'm very optimistic to be able to get back and still play football the way I want to this year." It is noteworthy he did not say "in October," "by Thanksgiving" or any other actual time, just this year. I wonder if he's including week 17 and 18 January games as "this year"?

 

I fear Saleh has no idea whether he's coming or going. In so many words, he has no idea about the politics of being HC of the NYJ? Either way there's quite a few pissed off Jets fan and I'm one of them....

 

Of all the things to be pissed about you're pissed off at the HC for saying our QB who has just been laid up with a knee injury for weeks, maybe ready week 1 but then changes that to week 4.

Dream shattering stuff.

Wilson was never going to be ready week 1, more due to being undercooked rather than the injury. per se.

Get him back out on that field when he is ready to do himself justice not more damage mentally and physically.

 

If they suck again this year, they should spray paint him silver and make him dress like Destro on the sidelines.... press conferences would be great

Saleh is in a tough spot at the moment. His team needs to show tangible improvement or else his seat will really start to warm up. He can help himself by ditching all the slogans and feel good propaganda and concentrate on winning some football games. Just like every other HC in the league, he'll be judged on wins/losses and optics. Its one thing to lose competitively. Quite another to just flat out suck. Its not just on Saleh either. Ulbrich better come up with better gameplans or his ass can walk. Same goes for LeFleur. Perhaps Saleh has been let down by his staff. Sadly, nobody is gonna GAF and the buck will stop with Saleh.

 

I'm thinking more along the lines of this:
