Starting Flacco is absolutely gross. No Jets fan wants to see more of this guy. There's not even a remote chance that this dude plays at Fitz redemption level. Hell, even his kids tell him he sucks. If this is was plan heading into the season, we can predict a few possible outcomes: 1. The CS/FO was correct about the backup QB position and the Jets offense doesn't stall while Wilson is out. 2. The CS/FO is incredibly incompetent, and the Jets offense turns to garbo while Wilson is out. A whole bunch of other questions and outcomes branch off those two, but that's our basic A/B scenario for the next few weeks of what-will-definitely-be a miserable season. One thing that we can definitely deduce: the asking price for Gardner Minshew must have been too high for JD.
Is Robert Saleh just another lying sack of shit? He just said TWO days ago that Zach could play against the Ravens. I'm really getting tired of this team constantly feeding the fans a line of bullsh*t.....
A few of observations about the announcement that really bother me 1- Disappointed in Saleh. He needs to become much more savvy with his responses in press conferences. He says way more than he needs to. He is just too optimistic for his own good. This kind of news cast the shadow that the front office does not know what is really going on with key players. 2-The comment about heal in body and mind scares the crap out of me. What about the mind? Is he nor mentally strong to go past this injury and focus on recovery. The mental aspects have always being his nemesis, mostly about overthinking his plays, now add his increased awareness for the same injured knee and the development will stall even more. 3- Why is he not practicing this week in some limited form? Non contact reps to a game plan to get the mind in sink? It was said he was already throwing before this 4- Are they overly cautious now because of what happened to Becton? How good is our medical staff in bracketing injury recovery time frames? 5- A quarter of a season without our QB to see progress is massively disappointing 6- I flat out can't stand the idea of going after another QB once again. Dreadful way to start the season
I'm putting it on my calendar and letting my wife and kids know of this monumental decision that shall effect our thought process going forward. 9/7/2022, everything has changed.
The sentence 'Do not want a QB situation' Should be writ large in your mind. I'd take him over Flacco all day everyday but it isn't going to happen.
If they dont want him to look like a fool this week then why did they rule him out the next 2 weeks as well?
I'm debating whether to watch Sunday or just pay up-front for a 1 year long medically-induced coma and try again in 2023.
Saleh is not the medical staff. He just goes with what they tell him. Obviously the medical staff thought Zach was good enough to have a lite workout Monday but something changed there mind & now all the haters want to blame Saleh. Many times in interviews he tells the beat that "that's a question for the medical staff" or "that's a question for Joe", he doesn't just make up the reports as he goes without being based on facts from medical staff or JD.
