Were there seriously no better OL options on the waiver wire? smh I hope Knight ends up on the practice squad at least, since I really liked his running style and see potential.
Conner has more NFL career TDs than Mims. Thank goodness he and his agent didn't flex and ask for a trade
Well we do need help on the OL more than the RB room, but talent wise I think Knight has more talent than McDermott, so we're losing something there. But I hope they can get him onto to the P.S..
This is bad on multiple levels including we're already carrying a 450k dead-cap charge on McDermott which his current salary will get added to in cap calculations. It's a desperation move and does not put a feather in JD's cap--it will be even worse if we lose Bam.
Knight can be replaced by just about anyone. RB4 should never see the field anyways, where as McD is possibly 1 play away from being needed, despite what we think about him.
Yup, really a no brainer move. McDermott knows the system is a decent backup. The Jets are in trouble if he has to start multiple games.
I assume they did this because: 1. They wanted to see if any OL they deemed better became available. None shook loose so they may as well bring back the familiar face. 2. They thought it would be easier to get Knight on the PS this way. Hopefully they did their evaluations because chances are the backup OT is going to see some time this year.
Good reasons. I would add a third: 3. They wanted to see if McDermott recovered from his injury to be available for week one.
agreed. Perine is probably available if needed lol. To think the Jets’ success will in any way shape or form hinge on some guy named Zonavan is hysterical
How is his name any indication of his playing and contributing ability? Yes, he is a rookie but Johnson has been around for years with no production. Plus Johnson does not run back kickoffs or get more than 1 yard a carry. Even Perrine would be an upgrade over Johnson.
