When does Gleyber start losing at bats consistently to Cabrera? It’s not like either of them can hit.

Cabrera has 25 at bats. Let give him a little time before we declare he can't hit.

Just make DJ the full time second basemen. It's that simple, but we can't do simple. We can't even put our 2 best in base guys before Judge consistently.

I'd rather have Donaldson in than Torres. Torres can take 2nd when DJ needs to relieve someone at the corners.

Torres is a Cashman guy more than any other Yankee. He wants him to be a perennial all star, above average second basemen at minimum, to be able to say he got Gleyber for a rental and then resigned said rental the following year. He has the biggest leash on the team and I doubt he's going anywhere.

Cabrera can become a great super utility player, maybe even more but not going that far.

You’re hate for Torres is wild dude. He’s not year one/two Torres but he’s still a good player and producing well enough as a second basemen to not be as upset with him as you are.

Yankees fans are pretty spoiled with production at that spot going from Soriano to Cano and even to Lemahieu. It’s like Jets fans with centers.

DJ is not a good fielding 2B for what it’s worth.

I don't hate Torres, I just want him on another team. I disagree with labeling him a good player. He's an MLB player, so yea I guess he's good, but I'd rather have a lot of other second basemen

"consistently" and "lineup" should really never be in the same sentence with this team.

@Jonathan_Vilma second basemen that are better than Torres

    Ozzie Albies
    Marcus Semien
    Whit Merrifield
    Jose Altuve
    Jazz Chisholm Jr.
    Jorge Polanco
    Trevor Story
    Jean Segura
    Jeff McNeil
    DJ
    Kiki Hernandez

Last 2 aren't full time second basemen but definitely could. Brandon Lowe would be on this list but he's struggled this year. If we could trade Torres for Lowe straight up I'd probably do it.

This is off the top on my head, if I wanted to spend some time on it I'm sure there'd be some less heralded players I'd pick over him because IMO he's not a winning player. He's awful with RISP and he's way too streaky.

He is a starting second basemen in MLB, but probably 3rd-4th tier.

Merrifield is hitting .239 with 7 homers and his only advantage is 16 steals. Him being better is pretty debatable.

He and Polanco have very similar numbers as well. Hernandez is hitting .217 this year dude.

So based on your list Gleyber is what? A top 7-8 second basemen in the league? And you want to ship him off at this point for pennies on the dollar to get a shitty return like we did for Gary Sanchez?

He has more value and potential future return than that’s worth.

I'm not just going by this year. Hernandez has been hurt half the year.

Whit Merrifield is absolutely a better player.

I agree, cashman waited too long to trade him and his value has plummeted

I was listening to WFAN earlier and someone discovered this and threw it out there.

It’s not as if Donaldson is over the hill (OK he is but still). He just can’t hit at Yankee stadium.

Home; 50 games, .168/.263/.272 with 3 homers and 17 RBIs.

Away; 53 games .276/.354/.493 with 9 homers and 33 RBIs.

This holds true for his career too. Although the two lesser performances are at smaller sample sizes and a lot above the same, Yankee Stadium is the third worst stadiums he performs at for his entire career.

All I want to know is who makes these lineups? Who has the final say?[IMG]

Is Stanton hurt again? Why is he out of the lineup last night?

Don’t worry, Cashman is guaranteed to come back next year, to make sure we always sign enough outfielders when we need pitching.

Ill try to make this my last post about the lineup until the Yankees are done this season... But I would bet they are sporting one of the worst BA at the third spot in the order in MLB history because 97 percent of the time it's been Rizzo/Donaldson/Stanton

Benintendi batting third, protecting Judge. What a world.

Stanton looks like he’s never getting another hit ever again.

Yup, we are currently on that version of Stanton where it looks like he hasn't ever hit a ball before. He goes great with our other 5 streaky hitters in the lineup.

Paul O'Neill has made about 5 subtle jabs at the philosophy of the Yankees this game.

Edit: I stopped watched after 7-0, but seeing they put in Peraza at the last out in a game down 9... That's a pretty fucking incredible decision

At this point I’m watching just to see if Judge makes history. I’m almost rooting for an epic crash that forces them to move on from Cash and Boone.
