Yup. Fucking baffling strategy. Keep one of the worst safeties in the NFL and subject the rotation-caliber guy to waivers?
Wow. SEVEN Jets claimed. There are a couple players I wished they'd kept (Pinnock, Guidry, maybe Phillips) but the rest were understandable cuts. To me, that really speaks to the level of talent on this team. That's a very good sign Don't want to catastrophize about back end roster players, but so disappointing they kept Ashtyn Davis over Pinnock. That guy better step up big time. If Pinnock becomes productive and Davis continues to blow, it's a strike for JD. I hope they add Will Parks to the PS.
It's great that so many of our guys are being claimed but the problem is we are cutting them in favor of worse players. We are letting go of the talented guys, of course they'll be claimed. We're holding on to the turds.
Yeah, the more I think about Saleh/Ulbrich's strategy here the less I like it. It doesn't take that long of a rest period to recover and be able to give close to max effort when you go back in. There have to be huge diminishing returns with this constant rotation thing. Rotating 1-2 guys should be enough to where any given guy is pretty fresh at any given time.
If other teams are claiming our cuts and we aren't claiming other cuts then I can only assume we have the strongest roster in the league. 17-0
Ashtyn Davis over Jason Pinnock is the obvious one and a huge gaffe for sure. But from that list of claimed players, who else should the Jets have kept and over who?
It's 7 players Daniel!!! lol but hopefully this reminds us to keep things in context. We're still not SB contenders but the fact that 7 of our guys got claimed should be viewed as a positive. JD has added a bunch of talent to this team during his tenure. Now we just need some guys to step up and become elite and we could be a good team sooner rather than later.
Wow 7 players claimed. Who is this team? And we claimed no one? There has to be a plan. I have a hard time believing this is our final roster.
