He is supposed to start dong team drills next week. No practice just working on the side. Maybe he will start practicing the following week?
None. All they have said is if he is ready to play he will play and that he will not practice next week. Just team drills on the side. Tuesday will be 2 weeks. The following week will be 3 weeks which puts him in the middle of the timeline. So there is a chance he could practice that week before game 1. But, after all the injuries on this team the last few years I have a hard time not seeing them play this ultra conservatively. The worst case scenario, to me, is not Zach failing as a QB but Zach being unable to play as QB to give us a reading as to what he is.
So, best case scenario he start practice week of the Labor Day. Pretty much that rules him out of Game 1, given how much he missed. Game 2 is a possibility, but I think the Jets will play it safe. If I had to bet Game 3 is when we will see him.
We almost always agree but not here. Ravens "D" is really tough, coupled with Zach not having all the reps to get in shape in T.C. - working on a stationary bike and lifting weights isn't the same. I'm as anxious as anyone to see Zach play, but I sure don't want to see him hurt again and maybe even worse. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Kid has to play. Can't baby him forever. Every defense is tough. He gets a week of practice he plays.
Hard to deny Zach is injury prone at this point, and even if 100% I'm not sure he'd be the difference between us beating or losing to the Ravens. Best to exercise caution and make sure the knee is more than healed imo.
Yes he does have to play, but why rush him in against a top defense? Let Flacco play against his old team. Maybe he has some rent up revenge he can use to motivate him.
I'm nervous about letting him play because of the possibility of a terrible performance injury or not. But we put ourselves in this position so he's a must play if healthy enough imo. If we roll with Flacco when ZW can play then Flacco is defacto #1
This is not the Ravens of old. Zach gives the Jets the best chance to win. We are giving Baltimore way to much credit.
He hasn't practiced in a while though. Give him at least a couple of solid weeks of practice. He just missed 3 weeks, and it's not like he was in mid-season shape before that, he was just ramping up. There is absolutely no way he will be ready to go after missing 3 crucial weeks with just one week of practice. He is still very young, and having him play when he is not fully ready can have longer term effects on getting bad habits, confidence etc... Two weeks of practice to me is a must before Zach can play in actual regular season game.
