Now he will play x amount of garbage games this season before he gets cut at some point. Definitely a big question mark on the decision makers for this one
OMG, damned Jets, how did they not know Leatherwood a first round pick was going to be a complete bust, the writing was on the wall since day one, anyone with half a brain knew that and would have protected the OL instead of letting a better player walk for peanuts. Blah, blah, blah. Oh, wait, that wasn’t a JD pick, and that wasn’t the Jets…my bad. I guess that happens even to the best, and injuries had fuck all to do with it. Now let’s wait till the Raiders pick up his salary and we take a crazy flyer afterwards.
Come on - some people here have been pointing out the mounting red flags for Becton since the day he was drafted. Can't act like nobody could have seen this coming when a lot of people did.
keeping 11 defensive linemen? are they drunk opponents should go 5 wide and test out the cornerbacks. One tweaked hammy and they would have quite the advantage the rest of the day
Dominate definitely Isn't the word I would use. He was serviceable, within the structure of that system. He got a lot of help. I wasn't a fan of him coming out of college at all and I'm an avid OSU fan. I'm not surprised to be honest but I'm glad he at least had his shot to make It.
What I said before about Wyatt Davis Ohio State dominating in college but then being cut from the Vikings can be applied to Leatherwood as well.
Four DL, five OL, 3 CB and two S lead the first cut. Many hopefully will make the PS. I EXPECT more cuts fore-coming to accommodate better depth at LB, S/ CB and OL
Yeah I’d have kept Pinnock over Davis I also like Anae…but we have a lot of this kind of player right now…feels, like we got a bunch of edge guys that are like *right there*….seem good and put pressure but aren’t quite double digit sack guys that scare the offense…not like. Bosa or a Watt or a Garrett… I think he’ll be a good practice squad guy
So what does our OL look like now? I must say for a guy who’s preached the trenches for three years now our OL depth is terrible…I was ok with the Becton pick and he showed promise year one but once he missed all year for an injury that by all accounts would not have been a season ender for most players after missing a few games in his rookie year, I was like enough is enough…we just can’t rely on him. But JD doubled down by letting Moses go and not drafting a viable tackle earlier than round 4…I didn’t like that approach then and I don’t like it now…hopefully Brown can be durable and play well but man our OL depth is sketchy at best. overall I really like what JD has done here after inheriting a literal shit show from Mac, but I was hoping our OL would be better than I think it is…
Below is my understanding of the roster after cuts. But it adds up to 55. Which 2 should not be on the list? Edit: Cimini said Bawden and McDernott are cut. So editing them out. Thanks, but if Bawden went to IR they would still need to put him on the first 53 before placing him on IR.
