We as Jets fans may not have had a SB championship in over 50 years but we’ll always have the Summer of Streveler.
Can't have a QB that wins consistently on the roster. Its that simple. JD didn't invest anything in Streveler so he loses nothing. Not even the practice squad? Now that's fucked up..
Yeah.. Watching a winning QB play for the Jets? Blasphemy! Can't wait for more years of mediocre QB play and read the bullshit propaganda from Jets HQ. about how great everything is. They better play better than the bullshit product Saleh and his staff has put on the field up until now.
Mike white just sucked in 2 out of 3 preseason games. According to reports, training camp wasn't great either. If he has to start, I think we are screwed. Coaches will plan a lot better for him to take away short passing more effectively after that Bengals game. They in fact already have last year, which is why Flacco started over him after the Bills debacle. If a 3d QB has to play (I hope not), I'd rather go with Streveler. At least he can use his mobility on occasion and get some yards on the ground. Who knows, maybe he can even develop into long term back-up. I just don't see it happening with White after looking at this off-season's body of work. EDIT: Well, now that he has been cut, let's hope he ends up on the practice squad. I have my doubts though.
The Jets haven't had a passer rated in the top 20 since Chad in 2007. They haven't had a top 10 passer since Chad in 2002 when he was ranked #1. This has to be the longest streak of futility in this regard in NFL history since the merger.
Are we really upset about this? I was rooting for him as much as the next person, but cmon its our 4th string QB who lit it up in preseason. We have MUCH bigger things to worry about with this team If he goes on to have a hall of fame career I will happily eat my words. He's also had stints on other teams, so the chance of that is probably a little less then me winning the Mega Million Wish him the best in the future!
I’m sure we’d all love to have a winning QB play for the Jets. Just some of us want that QB to win regular season games and playoff games. Jets have had many Strevelers over the years, just not the QB that can win regular season and playoff games, I’m hopeful Zach can be that guy, we’ll see though.
If Zach isn't that guy, then we'll have the immortal Joe Flacco to stand in. If SloJo doesn't work out, we have Mike "Bengals game" White to step in and lead us to victory as he's done so many times before... If none of this works out, we'll just waste another high DP on the next FQB. The Jet QB room has never been in better hands... PVO

Really people? Zach has not thrown a pass in his second season and we are upset we cut our fourth string QB? How about we wait until we lose a few games and Zach throws 3 pics a game before we jump off the roof. Starting before the first game this season amazing. Guys, Zach had a good camp the coaches are high on him. How about we give the kid a chance.
Ranked 24th in passer rating that year in the NFL. Looked great to us because our QB's have blown chunks for a generation now.
The thing about the Jets is even the no-name bad QB's look bad when they play. Streveler may be that but he wasn't bad when he played and the offense was bad either.
That's not changing anytime soon...Good thing we really don't need anything other than a mediocre Qb that can occasionally manage a close game.
