Figured we could use one place to gather all the news. Looks like we've already begun the process and my god, if Douglas somehow gets a pick for Edoga...
He absolutely earned a spot over Mims but I get why you have to keep Mims instead. Hopefully he ends up back on the PS.
Woah, Edoga has trade interest?? That's wild. Expected they would waive Jackson, but hope they can add him to the practice squad. He showed something as a receiver and returner. IMO he'd be the 6th WR (if there is such a thing?) if Denzel were traded.
Don't expect many fireworks on the offensive side of the ball on cut day but Defense might see a few 'vets' leave. Curry and Davis I expect to leave. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
First of all, Edoga sucks and if Douglas can get a pick back for him, he should do it. However, he's put himself in a position where we are unbelievably thin on the offensive line (even with Edoga) and I guarantee Brown or Fant gets hurt at some point this season and then everyone will be doing the "Well, how could Douglas have known that there would be several injuries at tackle???" routine. And the answer will be that everyone knew we needed improved offensive tackle depth this offseason and Douglas didn't do anything until Becton got hurt - that's on him. Now if he trades Edoga (and he should because he sucks) he's making his bad situation even worse.
A few things… The notion that Douglas didn’t do anything until Becton went down is flat out false. Brown was visiting the Jets and they were talking contract before Becton even got injured. Second… If Edoga is as terrible as you say he is, and he honestly might even be worse, then you certainly could pick up a guy of equal talent off the street if you end up needing a tackle in a pinch right?
Writing was on the wall for Perine. Not surprised they want to bring back Charles, he looked impressive.
Yes, but that doesn't mean the guy off the street will be adequate, it just means he will be as good as Edoga (who is inadequate).
well yes that I agree with but we wouldn’t even be having this conversation if Becton never went down. Our starting left tackle would be our back up swing tackle who happened to be a pro bowler last year. You can get on Douglas for a few things but the way he handled the line is not one of them.
Irvin Charles could be worth a PS addition. Looked a bit slow but powerful and made some nice plays. Perine would be better off elsewhere The more I think about it the more I could see them keeping Wesco and cutting Bowden
Ashtyn Davis gone. Thank God I absolutely hated the Perrine and Davis picks on draft day. There's plenty of threads where we discussed it. Neither pick ever made sense.
Where are you seeing this? We absolutely should be keeping Parks over Davis but I haven't seen that anywhere.
Guidry is a good player but the fact that he was starting for us last year was an issue. The fact that we can cut him this year means Douglas did his thing.
Thought Anae had a shot, but again when you add as much as we did on the DL it's not surprising. It's nice that roster bubble guys are actually on the bubble for us rather than starting.
