Hey guys here is my article on Wilson's injury. More from Dr. Kyle Trimble for a little expert opinion: https://gridironheroics.com/zach-wilson-has-bone-bruise-and-torn-mcl/
Yeah the MCL was last year. The meniscus is the ligament padding the femur rests on. It helps pad and stabilize the entire joint. MCL, also called a tibial collateral ligament (TCL), is a ligament that runs from the bottom of the femur to the top of the tibia and acts like a rope to stabilize the inside motion of the knee. They actually work in tandem and last years MCL tear may have weakened the meniscus during the recovery period. Here's a good look at them on the right side of the pic:
For those opposed to football players playing football before the season starts....look at all those injured across the league...it's not just us...it happens....
He is now 0-2 on making through a full NFL season I think it’s always going to be a problem because he’s small and holds onto the ball way too long
Cimini had a recent article that it has been a long time since our starting QB has made it through a full season without injury. I am not sure which year he said but looking back 2013 looks to me like the last year where our starter did not lose time with injury. Even in 2013 an argument could be made that we lost QB time with the Sanchez injury but in fairness Sanchez was getting outplayed in camp by Geno and was unlikely play in 2013. Pretty amazing streak of 10 straight years with a starting QB injury.
The Jets are always playing musical chairs on the OL these days. Can't keep the QB upright when the guys in font of him don't know each other and are often JAGs or vets on the downside of their career.
I don't believe its common for teams to enter the season with a 37 year old LT as their starter who joined the team a week ago
