Hard to argue JD has not done his job. He has not only given the CS a team that can win but given them high character players that fit thier system. JD cannot control if they win or not but he has assembled a pretty talented team with a lot of upside in potential. In that respect he has done his job. Now it is up to the players to develop, the CS to coach and help them and for luck to not go against us.
Lawson is a team leader and deserves that status. When he got injured last year he did not fly home but stayed in NY and participated in all the film sessions, defensive meetings and team meetings as if he was playing. He offered advice and support to other players. He solidified his position as a team leader year and works as hard as anyone on the team. He may not be back to full health and the level he played before the injury right now but he has busted his but in rehab and in the locker room. It is hard not to be a fan of Lawson
He hasn't done a single thing to contribute to a single Jets win. I get that he busted his butt rehabbing his injury. But to me a team leader will always be someone who has helped his team win. He may very well become that guy, but I don't think he's there yet.
You should write him and his teammates a letter and tell them that as they all seem to disagree with you and think he is a team leader.
If Lawson talks and everyone listens, he's a leader. You can name a guy a "captain," but the leaders are the ones whose voices command respect.
I think it's great that they think of him as a team leader. I just find it very surprising. I have nothing personal against him and I'm hoping he becomes a pass rushing force.

Indeed, I am on the fence about this CS... start wining games, not really interested in the rest of the noise (media, reports about progress for whomever)...just ****ing win. Ohm have the team prepared to play a full 60 minutes...
Is Mosley still on the team? Or Q? Like to see vets that been around longer step up here but still happy to see Lawson take the lead
