OL Coach is John Benton. Who is the Niners former OL coach. He might not be Scarnacchia but he's no slouch.
Woof. Rough day for the OL today without Becton. Gotta hope they bring in another OT (or 2) and give this unit some time to get some reps together and gel before Week 1.
Watching the reports of OL today I have to imagine the urgency to sign a replacement has only increased. 8 sacks that is pretty depressing. What happens when the OL starts giving up is the QB then stops looking downfield, starts moving too soon and panics taking unnecessary sacks. It breaks everything down.
Rather than worry about our o-line I'm going to be excited about our d-line. And JD being on the phone.
Quinnen Williams looking good is a plus. He's due to have a breakout year... we need him to be a dominant force on the DL...
Actually, we haven't - what we're seeing now is a different story. What we've seen here before is people making up their own stories about the guy for almost a year. Like the story that doctors said he should have been back on the field 4 - 8 weeks after his last injury. I agree he's probably not going to see action for a long time, maybe a very long time or even never but as you said, we're all speculating.
