Anything Saleh says about the knee is irrelevant right now. The bottom line is that as long as Becton is as heavy as he, he will continue to struggle with recovery and with staying healthy in the first place. I said this a year ago when the knee injury first happened - lower body injuries are always a serious concern when you're that tall and heavy. There's a vast amount of evidence of this from the NFL and NBA.
Well, results count more than stats and the Chiefs lost, so that's all that really matters, but Mahomes made some incredible throws under intense pressure.
Re: Becton's injury - This is exactly why I was hoping they would've drafted one of the top tackles in the draft. It doesn't seem like such a "luxury pick" now. I don't see this ending well for Becton or the Jets.
They should sign a backup tackle asap. Also, if Becton's injury persist, then next year they may have to draft or sign a new tackle.
The no brainer OTs would have had to have been taken at 4 instead of Sauce. Can’t say I would go along with that, but I totally agree that I have very little confidence that Becton will stay on the field. I have no hindsight regrets about the draft at this point in time. in terms of keeping Zach upright and healthy I trust fant more than becton, even if becton was healthy. if the o line doesn’t really jell, we get our stud OT next year.
From the little video clip of Becton's injury it looked like something popped as soon as the defensive player hit him. The alleged stability in his knee suggests he hasn't done anything major, but he is increasingly looking like he just can't be counted on to stay on the field. The Jets need a starting-caliber tackle AND a depth player because I can see Becton going on IR. From what I've read about Brown, he is exclusively a left tackle, am I right in that? So Fant would switch back to right tackle, where he was unimpressive before. The Jets have to do everything they can to stabilise the line because Zach is showing real signs of progress and he needs to be protected... it just might not be possible to do much at this stage of the season. Like others have said, a tackle in the first round would be looking really good now.
There's a part of me that wished Corey Davis was the pre-season trade piece instead of Denzel Mims --- but we'd get killed on the Davis cap hit.
pass on a blue chip in Wirfs for a gamble.... gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thats some SOJ shitty drafting
No GM is 100% so it’s easy to say this now. Even the best GMs pick scrubs and have a bad draft here and there. What a good GM would do now, is find a few decent pickups to solidify the Oline in case of injury
i mean, i DO KNOW this... but so disappointing to me... i think its b/c i VERY RARE:LY have a specific p[layer in mind for a specific spot in the draft that i think is THE ONLY WAY TO GO and this is one of those rare occasions.
While I get your point, it's hard to be too upset with the Sauce pick, especially with how he's looked so far this offseason. It sounds like Mekhi's injury is minor, so hopefully that ends up being the case. Hopefully, we comes back at full strength and can make it through most of the season unscathed, but I'm losing a lot of my optimism and with him. IMO, OT might have catapulted its way to our #1 need for next year's draft already.
