This is what we need to see consistently from Zach.

KY. First off, much appreciation for all the hard work you put in capturing the many great twitter feeds. Is almost like being there watching our boys. Awesome seeing all the Jets fans eating it up. Lots of great stuff from many contributors. Is great to see progress by the youngsters along side the vets. .
On a cynical note about reporters, Am I wrong in noticing that Cimini, who is supposed to cover the Jets, today was very silent about Zach, hardly one report that I could find. Could it be that Zach had a solid practice and didn't throw one in the dirt. OMG nothing much worth reporting about Zach I Iguess.

In a way I understand the reactions that’s what fans do and they’re starved for any kind of football action.

But you’re correct yesterday he’s garbage today he’s gonna be a great one lol.

Cimini will often be in complete disagreement with the rest of the beat on Zach. When the rest of the beat said Zach has a great day Cimimi will normally say it's up and down and one notch below. I believe the problem originated when Cimini backed Kiper's statements that the Jets would greatly regret trading Darnold. At that point took on the cause and wrote the Jets would greatly regret trading Sam and started a campaign not to draft Zach. This has caused Cimini to shade all his coverage against Zach plus add in that Cimini and ESPN are all about page hits and negative coverage generates a lot more page hits. But never underestimate the power of Cimini's ego. He will always try to back up his previous statements. He was a huge Sanchez fan and did his best to slant his coverage pro-Sanchez. He has done this the last 20 years on certain players he likes and dislikes. But, in the end it is all about page hits for Cimini. Negative Jets articles are gold for him and ESPN.

It is a shame as Cimini is a good writer and he used to have great contacts. When he was at the Daily News he was the best source of jets information even if he was hated by Jets fans for being Mehta before there was a Mehta. But back then Cimini was good and relevant. Cimini was never good with X's and O's with little understanding of actual football as It appears his love was basketball. Which was fine 15 years ago as news then was about sources. Now with all the independent news sites out there with analysis and much more detailed coverage he has lagged far behind and offers very little. He and most of the beat writers now just tweet out the same thing for a very large percent of their content usually coming from video press conferences. Cimini occasional tries to offer some analysis almost always simply parroting something Kiper has already said but that lacks the detail and thought offered by the independent sites now like X factor. Cimini could have been a very good beat writer if not for greed and ego. But more than that Cimini and the beat writers have not evolved with how NFL coverage has changed with all the independent media. Just look at Maxx's writing and how much more detailed and informative his articles are than anything the beat writers write. In my opinion the beat writers and ESPN now produce inaccurate content for the casual fans while the independent media produce content for the hardcore who can't get enough. Then you get a hybrid like Hughes who does somewhat of both in writing for casual but more depth in podcasts.

Its great to see Zach making positive strides in practice today. From the tweets it seemed like out whole offense was gelling. Also nice to see Lawson performing well. He's gotten a sack every day so far.
