I go back and fourth on JFM. Glad to see he’s doing well, maybe this allows to move Q if things go south
I've felt this way before, but hearing things like this makes me feel even stronger that Huff is near a roster lock.
He’s just too sensitive to the media. He’s gotta learn, can’t fight with guys that have all day to write about him
Getting into name-calling with the media is really going to help. The guy just seems incredibly immature, and if he's going to get up on his hind legs at the mildest criticism, even if it is justified, he is going to exhaust himself mentally.
It's a valid concern but I'm not going to freak out about it now. Like you said, it's Day 2 of TC, Day 2 of him being a RT, with no pads on. Lets see how he looks here in a few weeks.
Doesn't bother me that much. This is today's athlete. If the beat is gonna chirp at the players, the players get to chirp back a little IMO.
Especially with a guy with a giant ego who holds a grudge like Cimini and who will go out of his way to take things out of context and make Becton look bad. Cimini is the exact wrong guy in the media to pick a fight. Few have a bigger loudspear or lower ethics than Cimini. Cimini and his ego still has gotten over his guarantee last year that the Jets will greatly regret trading Darnold.
I've got no real problem with it either. If a guy is going to publicly criticise me and I think its unjustified then I'm entitled to fire back I think. I may not be able to win but I can at least show that its not a one-way narrative and put my side across. Is it being thin-skinned? Maybe if the criticism is a one-off or infrequent but (from Becton's viewpoint at least) Cimini has spent most of the last year creating a narrative about him being out of shape and yesterday, even though he corrected it, the same guy put it out there that he wasn't a LT anymore. He's entitled to set the record straight. I used to work in corporate comms and PR. I'd tell him to try and cut the overly emotive stuff out and concentrate and the facts, maybe turning it back on Cimini a bit without trying to be clever about it.
I might agree with you if Cimini's tweet was critical but it wasn't. The guy was just reporting what he was seeing
I can see that for sure but I don't think Cimini does anything without an ulterior motive, trying to create something he can use down the line to create a story or reignite a thread. I saw it as definite attempt to keep the Becton narrative going.
Becton does have a point. If Dickie C. was just reporting what he saw, he could've easily added that Becton powered through practice. Everyone knows certain people have agendas. I'm not a fan of the rabbit ears Twitter war middle school bullshit, but he's not entirely wrong.
much ado about nothin Becton needs to stay off twitter just as much as he needs to stay away from the buffet line
I can't remember people being so obsessed with a Jets player like Becton. It's really head scratching.
