Yeah the matte black isn't the problem it's the logo that looks like garbage. Doesn't help the Panthers beat them to the punch announcing all black helmets/unforms. Their uniforms looks 10x better bc they have a logo and color scheme for it. Makes this even worse in comparison.
The color black isnt the issue.... "Jet Black" (with keeping green accents for tradition) has strong potential, from looks, marketing, sales, etc.... The problem is, despite the team being located in the the media/advertising/marketing capital of the world, they have one of the most half-assed logos in professional sports....
Jets QBs over the years have been having a hard enough time finding receivers. I do not know if we need them to be anymore “stealth”
It's just dreadful. It's amazing that they can't incorporate a fighter jet in some way shape or form. Instead the absolute best they could come up with was four letters and a football.
The entire league is going to move toward less subtle designs for about a decade, and then when they start going back to metaphorical designs, some genius in the creative office at One Jets Drive is going be like "I got it... what about... a JET?!"
I'm hoping that the stealth element of the new helmets renders our receivers invisible to opposing defensive backs and not our quarterback.
