If 72 thousand people are going to every game, for half the games a large portion must be dressed as gray seats.

I think it's a lot easier for someone in NYC to get to East Rutherford that it is for someone in New Milford, CT to get to NYC. I'd much rather go to NJ.

The stadium holds over 82,000. If they are averaging 72, even on an average day there are 10,000 empties. But its the average so what we really see is in September they are hitting close to 82 and Nov/Dec close to 62 and 20,000+ empties

Once again, facts are facts: http://www.espn.com/nfl/attendance

EXACTLY! Close by, yet better in every meaningful measure, like I already showed. Cheaper food, transportation, less traffic, heck even smaller chance to get mugged on the way back. Plus, you don't need to spend billions to build a new one. No brainer.

Yeah but if the Jets were in Westchester you'd be golden.

Heh, heh, heh. They should count people leaving at halftime too to get a true picture of attendance. By November the place is often a ghost town by the fourth quarter.

Some people don't think that cheaper is better when it comes to food near a stadium. If you're talking about inside the stadium the team is going to charge what they want regardless of where the building is located. Transportation is much easier to Citifield than it is to MetLife (unless you live in Seacaucus). Traffic is easier at MetLife? When's the last time you stayed until a game was over and got out of the parking lot in under an hour? Add another hour to get to a tunnel, the GW Bridge or the Verrazano.

And your fear of getting mugged and other crimes is not something most of us lose sleep over; have you seen daily reports of muggings at the tennis center or Citifield? I'm not spending a dime to build a new stadium so why would I care how much a decent stadium would cost to replace a soulless concrete box?

Because fans are going to eat the price. But regardless, it doesn't seem like you are willing to listen to reason. I have shown you the facts, provided evidence, and you choose to ignore common sense, because your love for NYC is blind, while I am staying objective. Enjoy the tennis games.

You have shown us your opinion, nothing else; you are entitled to do so. I have no particular love for "NYC" and am sufficiently aware to look at it as a conglomeration of neighborhoods of vastly different descriptions which you, for your own convenience, refuse to do. May you blend with those gray seats of MetLife for eons.

As someone who rides the elevator up to the club section bc my tickets are in the club section, I’m going to talk to security about all the commoners trespassing.

Things are good enough. Well below the league average but it’s good enough. Just fine and AOK.

This defense of mediocrity is textbook Jets fan.

Probably less aligned with time of year and more aligned to who were playing and how strong their fanbase is.

Oh, I sure will - keep watching on TV! Heck, maybe I will see you at the US Open tennis this year. I will leave many hours in advance for that NYC traffic, bring lots of money to spend on NY priced snacks, and pack a carry for safety.

Television it is for me - I'm tired of a twelve hour trip to see a crappy three hour game in a dump. It used to be a five hour trip to watch a game in a mudhole. You're on your own for tennis - not my ballgame, but it's in a nice place that's easy to get to; enjoy yourself. But you'll have a problem with your security plan - public events shouldn't lead to such paranoia. You do you.

All they really need is a spare 3 billion or so.
