Here is the reason given for the Mangold pick..... "Center was another really hard call. I give the slight edge to Nick Mangold over Kevin Mawae. Mangold made more Pro-Bowls and played in more games for the Jets so that gives him the edge. If Kevin Mawae didn't spend time with two other teams, this spot would have probably been his, but if were just looking at what they did in Jet's uniform, then I've got to go with Mangold. Mangold started 164 games with the Jets, including starting every game in seven seasons and was voted to seven Pro-Bowls and two All-Pro Teams. I believe Mangold deserves a bust in Canton."
Those were the first two that jumped out at me. Mawae and Shuler should both be starting. James Hasty vs Aaron Glenn is a coin flip.
Reasoning given for the TE Choice..... "This was a tough decision as well. Rich Caster, Jerome Barkum and Mickey Shuler all have very similar career totals, but Caster did it in four less seasons, so he gets the edge in my book. Caster had four seasons of at least 500 yards receiving and once caught double-digit touchdowns. He was vote to the Pro-Bowl in 1972, 1974 and 1975."
Shuler and Hasty are the two I would probably swap. And Erik McMillan at Safety. Leon Washington was our best kick and punt returner.
Haha, good one. Yeah, Erik McMillan is a real mystery. He came busting out of the gate, was DROY, made the Pro Bowl twice (year 1 & 2), and I was all this guy's gonna be s-o-o-o good! . . . aaaannnd a few years later I see a blurry aerial photo of McMillan's face and Leonard Nimoy is narrating an episode of "In Search of . . . " Seriously, the guy fell off a cliff. Wtf.
I too was a huge McMillan fan. How couldn't you be? But then he got way too cocky, uncoachable, undiscipllined, something. He thought he was a big brainiac, which seemed not to help. I wish I could have seen Rich Caster play. If he is as good as they say, he must have been something special to watch.
Shuler definitely for TE and I saw Caster play and he was a very good TE. Mawae was a ground-breaking Center while Mangold was a very good one. Shaun Ellis second all-time in games started by a Jet defender and #1 on the d-line. He has to be there somehow. Not sure how you fit him in.

Riggens and Jenkins were excellent, but neither played long enough with the Jets. I would agree with Shuler.
