No Judge, IKF or Trevino tonight. Rizzo hitting 3rd.

Can someone help me try to understand this?

Today is the Yanks v Judge arbitration day. Yankees are offering 17. Judge wants 21. The Yankees are arguing over 4 million?? What are we doing here? All you do in an arbitration meeting is attack and destroy the player and say why they aren't worth that money. How are they going to sit there and destroy judge? You don’t do this, you suck at this, and you’re awful at this? He’s literally going to get 35 million. Why would you attack him and chop him down at the knees when he’s literally going to get 300 million this off-season? Hell, they even offered him $30/year + just a few months ago. So stupid to not just give him the $21 in good faith and hopefully stay on his good side come the offseason.

    The day is actually Friday.

I don't think the Yankees will attack him. And honestly they only thing he hasn't really done well is stay healthy.

I truly believe that Judge will remain a Yankee. He's immensely popular and he is the face of the franchise. He the best player in all of NY sports.

I wish DWC was around so I could troll the fuck out of him. The team he announted as the best Rays team ever choked last year and this year they are 14 games behind the Yankees.

Could have sworn someone on ESPN Radio said it was yesterday, but you are right. I just don't see the point of even going into the meeting. Give him the $21 and be done with it. They're the damn Yankees.

What a win yesterday for them and what a moon shot by Judge over the catwalk. Still on pace for 63 IIRC.

So what is everyone's opinion of this current Yankee team? Are they a truly great team or are they a team that is just playing excellent baseball?

I've been a fan my whole life and my earliest memories was them getting swept by the Reds in 1976. I've seen 7 championships. In my opinion this is not the best Yankees team I've seen. That 1998 team had better starting pitching. In fact, the current Yankees starting pitching is way over performing.

It's hard to compare lineups because the HR has become the primary statistic these days but I liked the 98 lineup better. Guys like Gallo, Donaldson, Hicks and Stanton can all just disappear for games at a time. Even Rizzo does and I love the guy.

Anyway, I think this is a 95 win team that is just playing lights out. I would not be shocked if they eventually came back to earth. Guys like Taillon, Cortes and Montgomery are having career years. The Yanks will be in trouble if they don't continue to do so.

    P.S. I'm not a huge Boone fan.

That was an absolutely amazing win! Yankee detractors will say Judge is going to leave but I don't want to focus on that. This is a team that just doesn't quit. The Astros just beat the living shit out of the second best team in baseball and we came back from 3 down twice to beat them. I love this team

I read this on a Yankees blog.

The Astros threw 39 pitches in the ninth inning. That includes the mandatory three pitch strike out of Joey Gallo. No other pitches in that inning resulted in outs.

That is indeed true. The only other out came from a caught stealing.
