I listened to the PLAJ (Play Like A Jet) Podcast this morning where Nimbley and the host talked about yesterday's OTA. He said the same thing in the pod as he does here. However, he did say there was one thing he's gonna keep an eye on going forward, which was Zach still seems to hold onto the ball too long. Even during 7-on-7's where there's no pass rush, he gets the sense that Zach holds the ball too long. Again, obviously nothing to worry about in June but just something he said he's gonna "put a pin in" and keep an eye on going forward.
On a separate note Mims and Davis so far have impressed in OTAs. I know its just June, blah blah blah, and it doesn't mean much, and we have seen this before, blah, blah blah, but as the press micro manages every throw from Wilson good or bad, we also need to highlight the good stuff from other players particularly some that many have written off already. I continue to be hopeful we are going in the right direction, and every one in camp is starting with a clean sheet, with a chance to make this team, past be damned. My biggest hope moving forward from JD year one draft is the resurgence of Mims and Becton, along with immediate help from all the fresh acquisitions of 2022.
If I were Joe Douglas I'd try as hard as I could to get something of value out of that 2020 draft class because he hasn't so far and right now it's one of the worst in franchise history. Im sure he's not thinking that way, but if Mims somehow became a contributor that would sure help JD's case moving forward.
Connor Hughes Can't Wait Podcast where he gives his observations. If you don't like Zach then this podcast might be for you. Connor expresses concerns about ZW looking indecisive, holding the ball too long and inaccurate.
lol thumbnail for that video. Zach: Come on guys! We're all-in! C. Davis: sigh Flacco: Yep. That's right. I'm a dick.
not buying that these ota's have no meaning. if wilson can't complete passes with no pass rush, what is he going to do when they're trying to kill him? I remember stories how kurt warner would go weeks without an incompletion in practices, and he only one once. i'm getting tired of this kid already, no more trips to mexico, no more rangers games, no more islander games, no more mets games, no more broadway. football, football, and football is all i want to hear about this kid. he's starting to act like another Matt Harvey, try winning a few games before acting like you own the city.
Definitely no Islanders games!!! The Islanders can guarantee they will never be a distraction in May or June.
