I know I'm in the minority, but whenever I see that a movie or a TV show is based on a comic book, graphic novel, or a video game, hard pass. Maybe it's an age gap thing, I'm not sure; but I yawn, snore, and ignore. It's like when the doctor taps my knee with a small rubber mallet during a physical and my leg goes wooo! and kicks out. Pure reflex. Btw, I know my leg can't talk and say wooo!, but you get me.

Does anyone, anyone on earth have a goddamn original idea in their head? I'm so done with it and have been for years. Not knowing and not giving a crap about 99.9% of it in modernity I'm sure I've missed some good things but I'm not motivated enough to care.

All of those things are art forms that I deeply respect so it's not about that; but the world needs to fck off with this shit already.

I'm with you here. It's especially bad with movies where it feels like half of everything that comes out is superhero-based. I don't mind a superhero movie every now and then but much prefer something more story-based with some originality. I think that's a big reason I liked the first A Quiet Place movie so much when it came out. Second one wasn't nearly as good though.

The writing sucks at this point. That's the only way to look at it. You can tell this is true when you called the Snells to the detail like 3 episodes in advance. Nobody should be able to do that and if I can it means the writing is very, very bad.

Great show, terrible writing. Contradiction in place due to outstanding performances by the people required to navigate the scripts.

That is absolutely true, including the syncretism of religion, but let's stay on point. You know I'm a Lincolnphile: "Books serve to show a man that those original thoughts of his aren't very new after all", but for Pete's Sake can someone do something the fck else else.

There's a Ken Burns documentary on Benjamin Franklin tonight and tomorrow on PBS. I'm definitely watching it.

We do get shows that are completely new and non-derivative now and then.

Killing Eve was a perfect example of original writing, however this was true because the Villainelle books were also non-derivative and the show's writers stuck to them as source material.

I enjoyed the hell out of Severance S1. I might have exhausted the quality programming on Apple+ though.

Pachinko on Apple+ is one of the best shows I have ever seen. I can say that as a very proud lesbian..

Tehran is overhyped crap. Bad production, bad acting and the writing is terrible. Exposition all day long.

I need a new show to watch. Are there any new ones that have recently come out? We have Netflix, Prime, Paramount +, Hulu, and Showtime.

Bosch:Legacy is pretty good if you like noir-ish police stuff.

I've been watching The Offer on Paramount+, overall pretty good but it gets a big plus from a lot of the background stuff I never knew on the making of the Godfather. If it wasn't for that background stuff I probably would not have made it this far due to the subpar acting in my view.
