Was I not clear when I said Chad missed most of 2000 w/ a knee injury? he wasn't palying but he msised valuable practice time and the next year a new staff came in so that would be 3 offense in 3 years. In 2002 Vinny was coming off leading us to 10 wins and the playoffs and in 2 of 3 years he ledu us to double digit wins and the playoffs. Chad had to beat him out and he did not. At the time coming out of camp the jets were a popular pick to win the AFC w/ Vinny at QB and luckily Chad didn't start the year b/c we had so many injuries he would have been blamed for every loss and his career may never have gotton on track here.

They tacked on a late score, that game was tied in the 4th qtr(and wake might have been winning I don't remember).

What does a minor knee injury in 2000 have to do with November and December of 2001?

Yeah, so Testaverde won the job in camp. That is true. Then he started to suck during the season.

Testaverde was terrible in some big games down the stretch that year. Of course, he did play decently in a few games like the one at Indianapolis. But, in my opinion, less than adequate QB play cost the Jets the division title in 2001.

Testaverde was an old man by then and Edwards was wasting the services of a 1st round pick by keeping Pennington on the bench. I hated it at the time and I still hold it against Edwards. The proof is in the pudding. Look what the Jets did when Pennington finally got a chance to play.

He didn't suck during the season, we didn't throw alot. he threw it 590 times in 15 games in 2000 and only 441 in 16 games in '01. They went back to Curtis like the '00 team should have. Vinny saved us a few times late in the year w/ comebacks at Indy, vs. Cincy and at Oakland. Could Chad have done that at that point? I don't know, I do know we made the postseason so I am not complaining and I do know we won the division the following year.

He sucked. Trust me. I watched every Jets play that year. Sure, he led the Jets to comeback wins over the lowly Colts and Bengals. In other news, Rex Grossman did have some good games in 2006.
