Then they might as well let Quinnen Williams walk. On one hand we hear they are working on a major extension, and on the other hand his defensive coordinator is saying its a hard rule that he's only going to play less that half the snaps anyway. There is a big divide between the staff & front office
yeah I can't justify paying a guy no matter how good he is 20+ mil a season to take only 33% of snaps
Sorry. There is only a divide in your mind not in the front office. You sign a contract based on his performance on the field with snaps he is given. Aaron Donald average snaps per game is 36. That is to keep him fresh and at the top of his game. More makes him less impactful. Keeping everyone fresh is the best practice to have a powerful and dominating D. Signing a contract based on snap expectations is insanely dumb. You sign best players that can affect the outcome.Let the coaches determine the number of snaps based on a game to game conditions.
Are they planning shift changes like in hockey? Will they be grouped best to worst or mixed with weaker and stronger guys teamed up?
maybe if you ask the DC he will draw a diagram for you on EXACTLY how it is going to go with the rotations!
Okay, so you don't know either? Won't running three different lines or mixing them so each guy only plays a third of the game require a higher headcount or put guys on the field who don't belong there? Does a depth chart get thrown away in favor of democracy? Where is the sacrifice in roster bodies going to be made elsewhere on the field to enable this plan?
you are wrong Aaron Donald 1,041 defensive snaps last season. Over 17 games that’s around 60 snaps per game (not 36) and nearly 90% of the defensive snaps for the LA Rams. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/ram/2021-snap-counts.htm — for the record Quinnen Williams had 613 snaps, which was over 200 less than his own brother! When Quinnen is getting less snaps than Quincy, and that’s how the coordinator plans it, the coordinator flat out sucks
