Black-visor Conklin going for 1,200 yards and 8 TD's this season.

    Argue a wall.

That's not true at all lol. If you listen to the podcast Hughes said last year's OTAs were extremely easy and this year's OTAs were even easier.

    It's a mistake by a young coach.

The best thing about OTAs is that you are far enough away from cut down & opening day that you don't have to spend time evaluating players, you can focus solely on teaching & development. They are not afforded too many opportunities for that.

If its easy, you aren't teaching

This new low really came out of nowhere. Things were going so well. But here we are complaining about the one day of voluntary OTAs in May that was open to the media because it wasn't being treated like a training camp practice.

49ers OTAs were light despite having a new QB. Mistake by a young coach.

Do I remember it wrong or was there a discussion last year about Jets practicing too hard during the week and having no energy for game day? I see no issues with soft OTA. Get to training camp healthy, ramp up slowly and steadily. Reach top condition by Week 2 or 3 if that means little to no injuries

I see it now. That's actually good to hear Saleh is not the only one. The concern was he was going against the grain of proven successful teams, but looks like this is done by multiple teams, including 49ers.

The Ravens, according to pft, have also changed their approach to OTAs this year to try to reduce injuries. Sounds like it could be a trend.

Chris Simms gives his top 40 QB rankings. Ranking Zach 22nd. If you hate Simms well you might find more ammo here to post and if you like him you might enjoy his positive outlook. Either way, something for everyone.

Simms does a nice break down at the end of tge video on the Jets schedule. Quite rare to see a MSM person tell the world the truth that the Jets are getting shafted again on their schedule.

22nd is a massive improvement from last year. If you look at last year, he was #32 in passer rating with 69.7. #22 last year would put him in Tannehill territory with 89 passer rating. This is just his second year, and he has a lot to prove. Increasing passer rating by 20 points is no small feat. This is a fair expectation I think, which constitutes a significant improvement. I think he will exceed this expectation.

We knew the schedule would be difficult before it came out. No matter what, we'd have to go to Green Bay, Pittsburgh, and Denver. And have 6 divisional games against teams who have swept us for the last 2 years.

It's one thing having a difficult schedule but starting us with 10 games where will be significant to heavy underdogs is just wrong. The Jets are a young team, with developing players, 11 to 12 new starters that would benefit by the confidence of winning an easy game or two. Looking at the schedule 0-10 looks a lot more likely than 2-8. This is the kind of schedule that can crush a young team. Few things that can break a young team more than a front loaded schedule.

    Good points, but my take:

We really do have a lot of talent. We're young and should expect youthful errors that will cost us games. But we are also talented enough that, if we play well, we can beat anyone. If we pull out a couple wins in the front half -- which could certainly happen-- that can be a confidence booster and generate some excitement.

What NFL team did/do you root for before Zach Wilson was drafted by the Jets?

It's definitely gonna be tough sledding with that schedule...

We went 0-6 last year in our division.... if we don't get swept again that's a plus.

Would 7-10 be seen as a "good season"?

I would like 8 wins this year, but 7 wins is a step in the right direction as long as Zach looks good and losses are close. Then 10 wins and play-offs in 2023.
