I know the schedule isn’t out yet, but I don’t think it makes that much difference. We know who they play, so time to predict W/L for the season. HOME -BUF (L) -NE (W) -MIA (W) -CIN (L) -BAL (L) -JAC (W) -CHI (W) -DET (W) AWAY -BUF (L) -NE (L) -MIA (L) -PIT (W) -CLE (L) -DEN (L) -GB (L) -MIN (W) -SEA (W) Overall Record 8-9 Home Record 5-3 Away Record 3-6 Division Record 2-4 Fringe Wild Card Team I’ll throw in 2 possible extra wins: -CLE if they play when Watson is suspended -MIA because I think there’s a shot the Jets sweep MIA this year. So I’m predicting 8 wins but I could see 10 wins. What does everyone else think?
This Is a year where I feel really good about the roster, CS, etc... Yet, I need to see how OTA and Training Camp goes before I can feel good predicting anything like that. The inexperience factor Is very hard to gauge. No denying the talent Is completely revamped though. It'll be interesting. I know we need more than 6 wins this year for sure.
HOME -BUF (L) -NE (W) -MIA (W) -CIN (L) -BAL (L) -JAC (W) -CHI (W) -DET (W) AWAY -BUF (L) -NE (L) -MIA (L) -PIT (W) -CLE (L) -DEN (W) -GB (L) -MIN (W) -SEA (W) Overall Record 9-8 Home Record 5-3 Away Record 4-5 Division Record 2-4 Very similar to yours except I went with us stunning the Broncos in Denver this season. No idea why but I have a feeling we get Denver early and Russ is still trying to learn how to play with all those guys which lets us squeak one out. Now that this is out there, I'm fully expecting the schedule release to blow that entire notion away on Thursday. If so, and the @CLE game is within the first 6 weeks, I'll flip flop those 2 results.
You have the EXACT games W & L as I would have put down. It's the second toughest schedule this year. We'll have to steal a few games, Pittsburgh, vikkings, & Seahawks to hit 8 wins. All 6 of your other W are very winnable. The real steals would be Green Bay & a Buffalo game, but I'm not betting on them.
We played Denver on the road last year and were completely outclassed. They added perhaps the best QB in the game, how do you figure that is going to be a 'W'?
Given the AFC is strong, and Zach is a question mark, I'll go with 6-11. Same predictions as @MaximusD163 but with losses to NE at home and Minnesota on the road. HOME -BUF (L) -NE (L) -MIA (W) -CIN (L) -BAL (L) -JAC (W) -CHI (W) -DET (W) AWAY -BUF (L) -NE (L) -MIA (L) -PIT (W) -CLE (L) -DEN (L) -GB (L) -MIN (L) -SEA (W)
The Jets never play well in Denver or Pittsburgh for that matter. I’ve been watching them for 40 years … I’ve seen them win only twice in Denver and I saw the only win the franchise has in Pittsburgh. Incidentally it was 2010 when they won in both places. The Steelers don’t have Ben anymore but Denver is going to be a tough game especially ….
I mean, we know who is on all of the rosters, right? What’s gonna change between now and Week 1 aside from injuries?
Every year we seem to lose a game we should win. So far even the 6-11 prediction had us winning all of the easy ones. Vegas has us winning 5.5 games. It would be nice if we won more but nothing we saw on the field last year suggests that it will happen.
We usually win a game we should lose too though; last year we beat the Bengals and Titans. And the Vegas prediction seems reasonable; for a 5 win prediction, just have us lose to the Steelers as well.
Well, that would be extremely unlucky… and personally I’d like to look forward to the season but that’s just me
i know i am being pretty picayune... i am quite curious what this will look like once they start playing for real. amma try to NOT listen read too much training camp stuff.
I think 8 wins is a realistic expectation for this team assuming Zach is an average QB. The Jets absolutely cannot go 0-6 in the division for the 3rd straight year. Talent wise, they're just as good as New England and Miami. Figure out a way to split with NE and MIA.
This sounds about right. Will there be growing pains with our young players? Absolutely. With the upgrade in talent Zach needs to show noticeable improvement. If he doesn't then 8 wins might be unrealistic. If that happens then the Jets will have a huge question to answer going forward at QB.
Is feeling optimistic a death knell? As we all know, our livelihood depends on ZW's progression. With that said: 9-8 Same as Max minus 1 game. HOME -BUF (L) -NE (W) -MIA (W) -CIN (L) -BAL (L) -JAC (W) -CHI (W) -DET (W) AWAY -BUF (L) -NE (W) -MIA (L) -PIT (W) -CLE (L) -DEN (L) -GB (L) -MIN (W) -SEA (W)
According to the W/L’s I laid out a few days ago: 1. 0-1 2. 1-1 3. 1-2 4. 2-2 5. 3-2 6. 3-3 7. 3-4 8. 4-4 9. 4-5 BYE 11. 4-6 12. 5-6 13. 6-6 14. 6-7 15. 7-7 16. 8-7 17. 9-7 18. 9-8
i love it but I don’t believe it…I would be thrilled to come out of the gate at 2-2…I think 1-3 or 0-4 are more likely.
