I do not want to pour more gasoline on these flames of optimism especially as I expect a 6 win season but I will say we have a brand new team with 12 new starters that did not play last year. Although the argument can be made it is only 10 as Wilson and Hall might not be starters but they will be getting a significant number of snaps. Players that did not start last year: 1. Becton 2. Tomlinson 3. Hall 4. Uzomah 5. G. Wilson 6. Lawson 7. JJ 8. Reed 9. Sauce 10. Whitehead 11. Joyner 12. Zuerlein Also take into account we will hopefully have Corey Davis, E. Moore and Michael Carter playing significantly more this year if they stay healthy. With the new starters our depth should be improved as well so when we have injuries like last year hopefully we will be in a better position.
Every rookie starter = at least one loss (Bill Parcells). Chances are all 4 of our 1st/2nd round picks are starting this year. I love our draft but we’re not even close yet. Take a team like CIN and you see how Burrow was already showing signs as a rookie that blossomed his sophomore season. Zach hasn’t show any signs yet, and it’s likely going to take 1/2 a season for him to really gel with this new offense and at that point we’ll begin to see for sure if the kid has it in him or not. Honestly though this team reminds me of the 89 Cowboys. A lot of blossoming potential that needs the QB to step up. I think we struggle this year with 6-8 wins honestly. My hope is the majority of those wins come in the 2nd half of the season with the light turning on for our young players by then, leading into a promising 2023 season. My gut says we’ll be looking to draft a QB next year though.
hopefylly we are looking to draft more Oline, Dts, Lbers and safety next year. No Qb, Rbs, TEs or CBS as those rooms hopefully are looking good by then
Wrong. Zach has a lot to do with the defense. If he can't put points on the board, you can't expect a defense to hold down the opposition for an entire game. Granted, our defense did not look great last season, but defenses always play better when they have the lead, and our defense played mostly from behind. Getting the lead is what Zach is hired to do.
2 reasons. One our division is brutal. I could see s going 5-6 or 6-5 outside the division while winning 0 to 1 games within the division. 2nd, with 12 starters and that many young players it will take awhile for the team to gel, to learn to win and finish games. We might be better than a NFL average team but still be last in our division. I am just hoping to see us be competitive. Be in games in the 4th quarter with a chance to win. This is year 2 in the rebuild I am not expecting miracles I just want hope and what looks like a competent team.
This could certainly happen. But i said IF ZW shows big improvement. If that is the case we can beat NE, give miami a tough time and not get blown out by bills. On any given Sunday....
I don't see us winning 10 games this year. Next year I might believe it. Watching the games in the last couple years has been painful. Turning things around on a dime is unlikely.
Love the enthusiasm, but that’s incredibly optimistic. QB and Oline still question marks. An 8-9, 9-8 season would be more likely, assuming Wilson doesn’t completely shit the bed. 2023 is the playoff year
If Zach proves to be the real deal then Jets vs Bills will become must see TV for the next few seasons and the rivalry between these two teams will really heat up.
Realistically I think it will be 7-9 wins. If they get to that plateau, any additional wins are gravy. JD did his job now it’s up to the CS.
I don't care about the number of wins per se. I want to be competing late in the season and be in contention for a playoff spot. Depending on a multiple of factors 10 wins can be great or a disappointment as well as a 6-8 win season.
