Texas A&M DE, has good athleticism and great measurables (6'5", 270, 35 inch arms). Older prospect (6 year guy at A&M) and had some off-field issues this past fall. Also to try and head off something that's going to be screwed up ad nauseum if he actually pans out, his name is spelled with an e-a, not the traditional a-e.

Interesting pick. Would have preferred another O lineman. They must have seen something in him

Thanks for the info I didn’t know too much about him, but I’m trusting the process and our GM/coaches with what they want and are looking for. I really wanted a LB or DT but hope we can get some later picks somehow or sign some good UDFAs

Wow. After a GREAT 4 first picks, the last 3 picks disappoint IMO. The third round TE would have been a good selection, if we had not already signed two fairly high priced TEs (too many other needs). No LB drafted at all this year when all we got is Mosely and a bunch of no names? And Mosely is likely gone after 2023. Douglas must REALLY think those 2 safeties he drafted in 2021 can play LB in the NFL. Haven't seen it so far.
A plus plus for rounds one and 2. Would give it a C for round 3 and 4. Go jets!

Great player just off the field stuff. Hopefully stays focused.

Clemons was a team captain, so he's got some good characteristics. In Texas, carrying a weapon and a bit of weed is their birthright.

Without the weed and fake ID, the weapons charge would not have happened.

Clemons and his position group dominated the Alabama offensive line like I’ve never seen Alabama’s line dominated and they ultimately won the game. The score was inflated because of some end of game madness.

I’m surprised this guy isn’t being talked about more. He’s a physical specimen with a lot of moves. Hopefully he stays out of trouble and locks the gun up properly when he flies to Newark.

Video of him taking his draft call sounded like he just took a few hits

I agree, He’s going to be a big pressure guy, the only thing he needs to stop doing is the spin move on tackles, he depends on it a lot and it literally stops him in his tracks on some plays.

When he’s facing the oline he is a force to be dealt with, he gets a lot of pressure and breaks down the pocket. Not many QBs are going to be able to sit in a clean pocket when he’s on the field.

You know I love the defensive side. Anything we can do to help opposition QBs to look up at the New Jersey sky (or chew the grass) is fine by me.

I do too. The more I watch this guy the more I'm amazed at the spin moves, speed and violence in which he closes on the ball carrier or QB. He is in the back field faster than most all big bodies I seen on this draft. Yet I don't remember his name popping up at all in draft forums or media. Tells me the scouts and draft team under JD are really doing their homework.

Obviously character concerns/age were the reason he fell, but after watching the highlights the difference in his tape to Jermaine Johnson's was not a 3-round difference and that is meant with no disrespect towards JJ either. If Clemons keeps his head on straight, this could be an absolute steal.
