I hear ya... Always good to have a change of pace. Elusive one minute, Power the next... I don't think Perine or Coleman cracks this roster.
I remember Macagnan constantly trading back and leaving good players on the board for other teams to draft, drove me crazy. To see JD grabbing blue chip players is refreshing, now the wins have to follow.
I don't think some people will appreciate this pick until they see Hall play. Kid is a stud. He will help Wilson more than G Wilson.
May have something to do with our revamped scouting dept. I think they sunk a lot more cash into it and it appears to be paying off..
Think LB was a bigger need but from what I've read this kid is highly rated/regarded. Can't complain about helping Wilson
What is going on? No one is complain8ng about JD and this pick? When it comes to adding weapons for Wilson, Hall will immediately become a force for Zach, more so than Garret. It will be fun to watch this super young offense grow together.
Again, LeFleur is key to making this all work. He has talent to work with now so lets see what he can do with it..
agree also...I think both LB and I think also OT were bigger needs, but I think this kid will really make an impact...we have a solid group of skill players now including the TEs... Zach Wilson has NO excuse now...assuming we can stay healthy!
The q then becomes why we wasted a 4th rounder on Perine to begin with. Sure JD is picking studs in 2022 but there's not a cohesive optimal long-term plan. Even picking Breece in rd 2 makes it questionable to pick Carter last year. Yes-Breece has more upside than Carter but if next year someone has more upside than Breece he's going to consider him? That's just wasteful. Still, I agree we are improving the team but it could be even better if we had optimized positional drafting over the last 3 years.
I know JD was with Ozzie in Balt, but he never was the shotcaller on draft day so.. He had to learn to use his judgement and trust his new scouting dept. He's light years beyond the 2020 draft. I'm willing to give him a mulligan on '20. It remains to be seen how this year's crop of rookies produce for us.. I think this PRB pick was insurance against Carter I gets hurt and it helps to be able to play smashmouth if you have to. Perine never caught on and Coleman I think was just a place holder.
