Love the pick. G-Wilson is a fluid rout runner and has the suddenness to get open. What I like the most is that he's a natural hands catcher of the ball and rarely lets the ball get to his body. It will be interesting to see how he's deployed with Davis, Moore and Braxton. If we can add a guy like Breece Hall or Kenneth Walker or even Spiller in the 2nd or 3rd this team will have some playmakers...FIALLY, after all these years we could start seeing some prolific offense

    fingers crossed

Yeah I think most people thought the Falcons would go Wilson at 8. The WR prospect rankings were a bit murky this year but if we had to choose one guy who was the #1 WR prospect for most people/teams I think it would have to be Wilson.

The bold is what stood out to me the most about Wilson too. He is an extremely natural catcher of the ball with his hands, it pops out when you watch tape of him. There were so many times he just effortlessly plucked the ball out of the sky when it wasn't thrown very accurately, and he doesn't get lazy and catch the easy throws with his body very often either. He's usually attacking the ball in the air with his hands.

He reminds me a lot of Odell Beckham in that regard. Actually reminds me of OBJ in a lot of regards now that I think about it, weird we didn't see that comp thrown around more often.

Just looking at the run on wide receivers that occurred starting at 8, I think they really needed to go WR at 10 and very glad they did. Unless they were in love with Skky Moore or Christian Watson or something. I love this pick. Got a top flight WR just in time.

Cool video. Garret Wilson doesn’t have to be a top receiver. He has just had to be good along with the others.

They aren't even remotely similar... I liked Devin Smith coming out of college, injuries really derailed his career. IMO

Wilson Is a far better prospect coming out of college and was utilized much differently at OSU under Ryan Day.

This wasn't even a thought In my mind. Only thing that Is comparable Is the school they played for....

Show me where he Is sloppy? He has amazing route running skills and I've never thought that he was a "sloppy" route runner.

I feel like you are mistaking his violent cuts and explosive tendency, In and Out of his breaks as sloppy.

There Is a ton of film of this kid putting people on ice skates because his route running Is so clean.. I have never heard this take before.

Curious what exactly you are talking about though. Prove me wrong I guess, maybe I've just never noticed out of all the times I've watched the kid play.

In no way am I saying he is a bad route runner (he’s not, that’s bad scouting by anyone who says it) but I can understand why people may watch him run routes and think he’s not crisp. That being said, I don’t care at all. What he’s able to do in space makes him an elite weapon. I would much rather have a guy that can get open the “wrong“ way than a guy who can’t get open the right way.

If we could even just be competent this year I have no doubt this front office and coaching staff will be a draw to free agents.

Forgive my superstitions but... I will not ever tempt fate. May this new young man not suffer the fate as his predecessor.
