The bar is pretty low on this team, but JD makes logical choices and seems to strike a good balance between aggressive and reserved in how he drafts. I think he might be a little stingy on contracts and definitely looks to play moneyball more than making splashes. He knows how to look for value which is a breath of fresh air. I have more faith in him than I've had in any of the past GMs since Parcells.
I'll try to be nuanced here: Bad first two seasons. Elite with trades. Last two drafts have been elite. First draft awful. It's a low bar but he's the best GM we've had in a long time.
Sad thing is no matter how great a GM he is, its going to ALL come down to if Zach becomes a stud and im more on the side that he wont, but hope im wrong.

1. Jim Kensil built the New York Sack Exchange and his 10-1 team beat John Elway and the undefeated Broncos on Monday night before the whole team got hurt. He also had us in an AFC Championship game where Don Shula flooded the field to get an unfair advantage. The team wallowed in misery for roughly a decade after he stepped down. 2. Bill Parcells took over for Rich Kotite and rapidly took us to the AFC Championship game. After injuries derailed his last season as head coach he gave us the amazing 2000 draft to set us on the right course for several years beyond his tenure 3. Mike Tannenbaum gave us the Rex Ryan era with back to back AFC Championship games Lets wait to see if JD's teams can win more than four games in the same season before we give him the crown.
I agree to hand Douglas the offseason championship trophy is a little too much. Saleh and crew still need to coach these guys up.
