I think it depends who's available at 10. IMO, there's a deal already in place unless either the player the Jets REALLY want is still there, or if they're not, then the player the Niners want is there. Things have been too quiet with both teams...
I think ESPN is just trying to market their draft coverage. Nowhere else is mentioning that this is close
Agreed. If it does not happen tonight, I don't see 49ers doing it now for future picks. The whole point is to get assets now. If that doesn't happen, it will be a much longer process.
Not really sure how this can happen without a physical and at the very least, a long term deal in place.
It can't. All of that would have to have been completed before the picks are made. Basically it would be all completing now without our knowledge. Only then actual announcement would happen during the draft. My point is the pick that is going to 49ers is the LATEST when an announcement can be made, with all pre-work done essentially now. It's like when we heard Hill to Miami announcement: all negotiations, physical, etc were completed with both the player and teams before it was made.
I don't think they need to get a physical done on the guy before the trade. He just played in the NFCCG 3 months ago
Possible. Regardless I think Deebo will be a Jet as well. How? When? I don’t know. Not just ESPN citing but several talk show hosts saying Jets are favored to land Deebo and with the tough AFC East, Jets need stars and play makers.
Most likely JD would trade 2nd rounders, not #10. So, if he is a Jet we will know by 35th pick tomorrow either way.
Same. I just can't explain it. When I look at him, I see a Jet. Lol I rather trade #10 then second rounders. Supposedly this draft is deep with 2nd/3rd round talents.
Unless we trade the 10 for a later first and a couple of other prime picks - a 2nd and a 2023 2nd or 3rd.
In a QB poor draft, I don't think we will get much for our #10. F'ing Giants turned their 2021 11th or 12th pick into a first in 2021 and 7th pick in 2022. Wish we were that lucky.
Exactly. 10th is worth more than 2 seconds and a swap of 3d for 4th (Hill package). You can trade down from 10th, and probably get a 1st/2nd round pick next year and a second this year. So, yeah you lost 2 seconds, but convert 10 into a later 1st AND 2 seconds or even two 1st and second depending on who is on the board. Definitely a better deal than getting rid of 10 and keeping two seconds. And if a guy is there at 10, who is top 5 on your board, you can have an option of taking him. I am pretty sure SF would take the 10th for Deebo, but JD is holding out.
I don't think the Deebo trade is happening. Rapoport was just on NFL Network and said all is quiet on the Deebo front. He said teams have expressed interest but the 49ers haven't engaged in serious talks with anyone to the best of his knowledge. Rapoport is pretty tuned in.
Can't help but think about the still possible scenario where JD played his hand perfectly: SF running out of trade partners, but want to get some capital this year. Deebo isn't going to show and specifically wants to be reunited with Saleh/LaFleur. Jets sitting on Day 2 gold going into the overnight... Zach throwing to Moore/Wilson/Deebo next season would be pretty insane.
According to this article the Jets offered pick 10 and 146 for Deebo and pick 61. 1039 trade value points. About 200 less than the 1227 trade value points the Jets offered for Hill and slightly more than the Tennessee got for AJ Brown. https://www.si.com/nfl/jets/news/wh...rancisco-49ers-for-wide-receiver-deebo-samuel
