Well I still have some questions, and of course the whole Deebo thing can change things drastically, but until/if that happens, we can't count on it, so here's my best guess of what Joe Douglas will do: #4 - Ikem Ekonwu, OT/G #10 - Jermaine Johnson, DE #35 - Jahan Dotson, WR #38 - Daxton Hill, S/CB #69 -Troy Anderson, LB #111 - Jerome Ford, RB #117 - Alex Lindstrom, C #146 - Tyquan Thornton, WR #163 - Damarri Mathis, CB I doubt it turns out this way, but I'd be happy if it did.
Solid job - nothing dramatic but gets the job done. Apparently a lot of folks would not be happy with an OT at 4 but Ekwonu would be an anchor for the next 10 years. Both current OTs are a question mark whether people want to admit it or not.
I'd love to get a DT, somewhere in Day 2, but unless another Day 2 pick is added, it's probably not feasible to address every need. I do like the top 5 picks quite a bit though.
It might actually play out this way..we solve 2 big problems OTOH they say JJ stock rising so hopefully there at 10 ..if not?? Then what? I want us to grab the best Edge at 4 but I guess Ickey is too valuable to pass up
Way to go Colorado. We should be very happy with that. IMO I don't see Lindstrom lasting that long but that would be awesome. My hunch is an IDL with the #69 pick and a LB at#38,
I like it. Dotson would be just fine with me as the main WR acquisition, but I do think he'll go earlier. I was interested in Dax Hill and now believe he'll be there in the 2nd though did read recently about some character/bad interview rumblings so doubt he'd be the pick if that's at all true. As others have said, I'd like to see a DT added, whether at 38 or elsewhere.
I feel like there is going to be both a trade up back into the first, and a trade back in the second. Essentially, they will be moving their early third rounder to a late third. Probably trade up a for WR in the first with 35 and 69, and trade back from 38 and get an additional 3rd somewhere in the 85-105 area. This gives you the opportunity to get your guy with the fifth year option, while maintaining the same number of darts you throw. Edit- Also, I'd be pretty darn happy with this draft.
Did we just draft an insurance policy at 4? What happens next? Becton traded? Fant traded? Can’t draft Ekwonu at 4 without a solid plan to what happens next. Don’t mind the rest of draft, albeit extremely unlikely most of the names make it to the spots you pick them.
