i don't think he will be a bust because he has interests outside of football my fundamental concern with any candidate (including where i work) is how the person handles adversity. A lot of times things were easy for the candidate in the past -- all As etc; football analogy would be dominating competition to date How will this person perform when things get bad? Will they lead and fight courageously or shy away
All I can say is I can't count how many athletes in all the sports who said they were excited to play in NY and then fell on their face because they have no idea the amount of pressure they're going to feel. Where else are there so many sport news outlets? It's an extra element that has to be handled if you're going to succeed here. Whoever gets picked this weekend I pray they have the intestinal fortitude to succeed.
We want players that are 200% committed to the game. Period. I don’t care about how many outside activities he fancies, that’s his privilege, but no outside activity should impact him from being the best on the field on every snap. That’s all.
Jets franchise and the fans always scared of guys who don't fit this weird "don't talk just play ball" mold. This franchise could use a "larger than life" type of star. If he's the best prospect on the board at 4 draft him.
