Samuel has proven what he is - an NFL star. To start to figure out what Moore could possibly be is putting him in the same bucket as every guy in the draft; none are sure to do anything.
Disagree. Moore shorten year one debut was similarly successful as Debbo rookie year. Moore showed plenty of good stuff. I’m tired of considering trading rookies with lots of demonstrated potential. That is never, ever a good way to build a team. Hard enough to find them.
You're missing the point that it is proven what Samuel can do in the NFL but with Moore you're left to talk about "potential." I'll take proven over potential seven days a week. And that's without even breaking down your claim that first years results were similar. I don't like trading guys before their ability to compete is determined but I also don't believe in passing up on the infrequent opportunity to add a true NFL star. Which receiver will help the Jets more - the one who collects 68% of his targets (70% as a rookie) or the one who pulls in 56%?
This Is just posturing by SF. They are trying to maximize their take by trying to convince those around them that they have all the leverage. When, In reality, I highly doubt they are going to want to deal with the headache of It all. In the end, they will likely get more than they should. No way they get what they want though, If they do, God help us If It's us that give It to them.
I guess that’s Darnold and Jamal Adams for him. Probably. If I had more faith in the draft process I probably wouldn’t.
No. Way too much. At most.. #10 and #69 For me, that's still too much, I'd overpay It though at that cost.
Anyone suggesting giving 10 and 35 either doesn't understand the value of those two picks or cannot do basic math. 10 plus 35 is equal in trade value points to what the Browns gave up for Watson which I believe is the largest amount given up for any player since Herschel Walker. No team would consider such a trade. Joe Douglas could not hold his head up in public if he did such a thing. Joe has a reputation of not flinching and not going above a fair offer. Completely resetting the market by paying almost double the highest amount ever for a non QB, getting swindled, and looking completely desperate is not who JD is. The amount given up for Hill was likely as big an amount that we will ever see for a non top 5 QB. Anything, even close to 1800 trade value points is just media click bait.
Don't be so sure. We got 10, 24, and 86 for an all pro safety. This is one of the hottest WRs available which is a much bigger draw.
You dont value a trade by what the picks become but by the expectation of what they will be. When the Jets made the trade with Seattle the Seahawks had not picked outside the top 25 in 10 years. When you figure out the value of Adam's at the time the trade was made at best both teams assumed the picks to be at 25 or later. Second the trade was made right after the draft which discounts the value of the 2021 picks and 2022 picks even more. Maybe not a full round but they lost some value when they cannot be cashed in for 10 and 22 months. I have not done the math but mty guess is the deal was worth total equivalent to an late 1st early 2nd in the 400 to 600 point range. I am pretty sure Gazed and confused did an excellent trade point analysis of the Adam's trade and other recent trades a year maybe two ago and found the value in that 500 point or so area. Remember Draft picks are like stocks the worth or cost is valued at the time of the trade not the redemption. Just because the stock rose in price does suddenly mean the cost to buy the stock changed. Because the Seahawks played worse or better than expected does not change what they paid 2 years ago in trade value points.
Nobody is saying Moore is better than Deebo. We're saying Moore+10th overall pick+35th overall pick making $10 million per year combined plus an additional $10-$15 million of cap space is better than Deebo alone making $20-$25 million per year.
You and the person I responded to are not making the same argument - I'd prefer to see any clarification directly from him and it had nothing at all to do with dollars or cap space. My entire premise is that whatever Moore, the tenth pick and the 35th pick turn out to be is currently only a matter of speculation. What Samuels is in the NFL has already been determined.
I would agree with RaleBird that Deebo is more proven than what Moore has shown thus far. If you had a toss up between Moore and Deebo, I’d go with Deebo in an instant. He s not that much older than Moore. Now throw in draft picks, pending on what they actually are changes the scenario obviously. I think with the proposed trade posted recently I think it’s a little too steep imo. I think 49 ers would have to give us a 4th. That said I wouldn’t shut down the door to include Moore in a trade.
