He played in the PAC12 and was averaging 11 catches per game. That's just not possible if you struggle to get open. The PAC12 isn't the SEC but some people are acting like it's D2 or high school. It's still a power 5 conference.

Ya I value how guys get up after they get hit and how they position their body when about to get hit. It’s not main stream media optics but to me it’s important.

Huh? Thanks for the correct. Maybe it was John Metchie? Is he available this draft?

Williams played at Ohio State before transferring to Alabama last year.

metchie is available for this draft but he also tore his acl late last season ... he'd be a great mid round pick

I just checked on him and most mocks have him going in the second round. From what I remember, I'd take Metchie over Pickens, who I think would be a great 2nd round value.

Metchie's heart concerns me. It would suck to get him and have him have to retire at a young age. I think he will fall on draft day

i mean if he falls to the 4th i'd gladly take him as a 4th even if he only plays 5 years. lots of 4ths wind up busting anyway. a good player for 5 years is better then a bust

He’s ranked about 12-15 WR on most “lists”. That should give you an idea of the quality WR we can get in later rounds.

sounds like ya'll are gonna get your wish.

McShay was on ESPN talking exclusively about the Jets and WR. He mentioned Garrett Wilson several times and Drake London, albeit less times. He even suggested the possibility of the Jets taking Garrett Wilson at no 4 so they dont lose out on him.

McShay was Joe Douglas' college roommate so I take what he says more seriously than the other analysts since Douglas took over

Not for nothing, but this could easily be a smokescreen sent out by JD.

Who the hell knows at this point.

I doubt they take Wilson at 4, I can’t see a scenario where that would be bpa. But I wouldn’t be too unhappy with it, I think I he’s the best wr in the draft and is going to be a really good fit.
Of course it all changes when we land deebo

Always thought this could be in play if somehow Icky and KT are both gone before our pick at 4. Big agree on taking what McShay says way more than other draft pundits. I still think we end up trading for Deebo before the draft so it won't even matter.

Still hoping for Williams at 10.

The good news is we've got a ton of really great options and I imagine we'll have another great player/prospect at WR by the weekend.

Whether we trade for Deebo or draft Wilson/London/Williams/etc., Zach is gonna have another legit weapon for next season.

The fact that JD is willing to go after Tyreke and now Deebo, paying a bunch of draft stock and huge cap money in the process, tells me that JD believes Zach needs better weapons than we currently have at WR, and that it's such a priority that JD is willing to pay a top price to make it happen (which is not like JD). That high priority doesn't disappear if the Deebo trade doesn't work out; it just means that JD needs to meet that priority in the draft rather than in a trade. I suspect JD has decided on his top WR (or maybe 2) and, absent a trade for Deebo or someone similar, JD will do whatever it takes to get Zach the top receiver in the draft.

I know the team needs help on defense, but I agree with getting Zach better weapons, whatever it takes.

The great thing is we can take that WR at 10 AND go a long way to improve the defense with 2-3 of our other 3 top 38 picks.

    EDGE @ 4
    WR @ 10
    Wildcards depending on who falls (IDL/LB/S/CB/OT/IOL) @ 35 & 38

Those picks would do a lot for this team instantly.
