The draft is close! Everyone’s board should be done and now it’s smokescreens and posturing.

The Prospects that will be considered for our 2 top 10 picks I believe come down to 18 prospects. I truly believe 2 of these 18 prospects will be Jets. I think Hutchison will definitely be off the board so he’s not considered.

    1. Kayvon Thibodeaux Edge
    2. Sauce Gardner CB
    3. Trevon Walker Edge/DL
    4. Ikem Ekwonu OT
    5. Evan Neal OT
    6. Kyle Hamilton S
    7. Charles Cross OT
    8. Trevor Penning OT
    9. Derek Stingley CB
    10. Garrett Wilson WR
    11. Treylon Burks WR
    12. Jameson Williams WR
    13. Chris Olave WR
    14. Jordan Davis DT
    15. Devon Lloyd LB
    16. Jermaine Johnson Edge
    17. George Karlaftis Edge
    18. Drake London WR

Who of these elite 18 prospects will be jets???

I think it will be KT and Wilson but who knows?! We’ll find out Thursday!

KT and Deebo if there are any football gods. KT and Wilson or London would be accepted as well. Problem is I think KT is going to be gone and then we are staring at Icky, an OL, which Joe Douglas can’t seem to quit. If that’s the case I’d go Sauce and one of London or Wilson.

but again, if there are any football gods up there we won’t be picking 10th because we already have a stud receiver on the roster.

I would put Devin Lloyd in my top 5, I think he's going to be a game changer at the pro level. Same with Hamilton.

FWIW: Hamilton, Cross, Davis and Lloyd were not guys they had visits with or coached Senior Bowl week. I know there have been examples of guys who get drafted high by teams they didn't meet with, but I doubt those 4 are legitimately in consideration at 10.

I know the sports books aren't gospel, but if you go by who they have as the favorite at each draft spot, the Big 3 edges (Hutchinson, Thibbideaux and Walker) will all be gone. The books think it would be Sauce over Ikey at that point, but based on JD's history, I'm dubious of that.

I am really starting to believe we need the guys with the best attitude, those who want to win and be good examples

I am no Guru and have no time to do the research but , talent aside, who out of those 18 have the best character ???

Those would be my dice roll

I agree - if it comes down to Sauce vs Ikey at #4 the pick will be Ikey. While both OT spots have starters penciled in - the positioning is tedious - they don’t know about Becton’s health, the depth is rather poor, and they are one injury away from disaster.

Assuming EDGE is the pick at #4 I really think OT will still be addressed at some point by the end of the second day.

    Same here.
I’d also remove KT and pretty much every WR from my top 10.
Can’t be picking for need in the top 10.
It’s all about getting the best player and the character of that player.

I can narrow it down to half those players ASSUMING no trade down -

    KT
    Sauce
    Ekwonu
    Hamilton
    Penning
    Wilson
    Burks
    Olave
    Johnson
    London

Lloyd is a great LB and great fit but won’t be picked in the top 10.

Players like Sauce and Hamilton are less likely (position wise) then EDGE WR and OL

I’m not worried about if we interviewed or not.

I don’t think it goes edge 1/2/3… I think sauce or an OT goes in that top 3

I'm inclined to agree, I think it's worth noting since the likelihood of Edge 1-2-3.

Let's just say I'm glad I have a small wager on Ekwonu at Pick #4.KT and Walker have some detractors here, but I'd say virtually everyone is in agreement about Edge at 4. Once you start talking OT, CB, WR is where things get quite divided.

The best character guy in the draft is Treylon Burks. He is just a football player with strong morals and character. I could see why the Jets met with him.

A few others in that elite 18 is Hamilton, Stingley, Karlaftis, Neal and Cross. All strong character guys.

absolutely. Lloyd is amazing, if we can get him with the 10 overall that would be a special pick

Ya I think a few wild cards are in there. Walker for example if he slips to 4 I could see Saleh banging the table for him as he’d be a really good fit for his rotation. Also if you have Penning/Ekwonu on the list I think Neal has to be there too.

I’ve read the Jets don’t see Neal as good as a fit as Ikey. They say his run blocking isn’t as sound. I guess JD prefers Ikey in the #4 range. Penning would be in the #10 range - more likely in a trade down scenario but overall while the Jets liked him at the Senior bowl the chances of them drafting Penning probably isn’t very high either.

If they draft an OT in the first round I’d say it’s Ikey 80%, Penning 15%, Neal 5% based on what I’ve read…

The Giants seem to like Neal - he may be the pick at #5.

I agree, I don’t buy into these media rankings and what they feel is a reach. Lloyd is one of the best prospects in the draft.

I know. Thursday can’t come soon enough… who are your 2 picks from the 18 that you think JD will take?

I think KT if he is there but I fear he’s going to fall in love with Icky. At 10 it’ll be a receiver. There’s so many different things at play I can’t pretend to know which one. I want London or Wilson, will understand Williams. I have no clue which we actually prefer. All make sense.
