    I liked your Post..

Get a known commodity over a question mark WR

As I posted earlier in a different thread, Deebo has to leave the bad attitude in SF or this guy will be a prima donna cancer...scary thought and only real concern

Some really good nuggets summed up by this dude:

look at those last two bullet points and tell me he’s not an absolute perfect fit for the offense we run. And surprise surprise, he put up those numbers in the offense we currently run… I have no doubt our front office will do anything it takes to get him here and rightfully so. Whether or not he wants to be here is a whole different story.

One way to look at the trade is, would you trade Jamal Adams for Deebo straight up? I know I would in a heartbeat.

Would you trade Adams for avt and Deebo? That’s what it would amount to.

I’d rather give up the 10 than the 2s and 3. Great player and still have 8 picks to fill out the roster.

I just don't see JD trading these draft picks for Deebo. He has worked his ass of getting us into this position and to just trade it all away for one player doesn't seem like the play here. .

The only way I see him pulling the trigger is if we can get away with trading one of our seconds and our third, which will not be enough.

People keep saying this despite having mounting evidence that JD absolutely will trade picks for established stars. He’s said it out loud and he also almost did it for Hill. The “point value” of the Hill package equals the 10th pick more or less. There’s no reason to believe Douglas WOULDNT at this point.

And this right here is exactly why we should make the trade and why it’s easy to believe Douglas would make this trade. You land an established star and you still have a pocket full of premium picks to land starters. It’s a win-win situation.

Although the prospect of adding a top notch WR to Zachs arsenal of weapons does look quite attractive, I have a different take on what the Jets should do. If I were JD, and I'm sure you're all glad I'm not, I would not pursue a Samuel trade. Quite frankly, I'd rather utilize the draft. To be honest, I just never thought this would be JD's way? After the last few years and seeing the way he spends money, I just never figured the gigantic splash trade would be his Forte? It's going to cost Fort Knox to execute such a trade.
No. If I were JD I would use the picks to find a truly great WR. For me, we don't even know what Elijah Moore is capable of? We may have a bonified number 1 already on the roster? I would use something like 35 or package a few picks to trade back into the late 1st to grab Christian Watson. That kid IMO has all the tools and athletic prowess to become just as good as guys like Hill, Brown, and Samuel.... And we would not have to mortgage our future on one transaction.....

Ironically, this exactly what trading the 10th pick for Deebo would accomplish.

This team needs alot more than just a star wide receiver at this point, especially on the defensive side of the ball. My opinion is, trust our scouting department, make 4 awesome picks and roll that way.

If you trade the 10th pick for a star WR you still have a top 5 pick plus two early first rounders to find starters. If you trade the twos and a three then you have a star WR plus two top ten picks. No matter how you slice it you’re trading for a star with the opportunity to find more.

Ideally, he would draft starters with the 1st round pick every year, but why should we as fans have any confidence that he will? Who has Joe Douglas picked, traded for, or signed as a free agent that has been anywhere close to what Deebo Samuel has been? No one.

Douglas has made 2, maybe 3 good trades for draft capital. That is ALL he has done. He has done absolutely nothing with those picks. Becton had a decent 1st season, but last year was a disaster. Elijah Moore barely played half a season. Zach Wilson threw 9 fucking touchdowns for an entire season. Thats 2 good games for Justin Herbert, 3 for a mediocre guy like Kirk Cousins. For our guy it was a goddamn season. If Wilson was on any other team we would look at him as an absolute bust and mock their fans about wasting the 2nd pick on him.

Deebo would instantly be the best player on the Jets by far. Get him.

I wouldn't object, but the "problem" with this valuation is that whereas you might get good players with those three picks, you're almost certain to get a very good to great player with the #10, or quite possibly use it to trade back a bit and get several premium picks that you could use to fill key holes. So as I said, I think the "equal value" is off.

That said, Deebo is already a "very good to great" player, AND he fits this offense perfectly, and he's a proven quantity. So while I really don't want to give up such a valuable pick, I'd do it.

But my gut tells me that what Deebo is really looking for is to be traded to Green Bay where he would be able to play with Rodgers, and have a chance to get to a SB. If that's true - and IDK if it is, just my gut - if he were to be traded to the Jets would be unhappy and not play his hardest, trying to again force a trade? I'll trust Douglas to suss this out, but I hope he does. We've had too many players come here for "the bag" and not produce.
