I hate that I'm agreeing with this more and more as time goes on. I generally think it's crazy to take an OT at #4 instead of an EDGE this year but I have so little faith in Becton turning it around that I don't know anymore. The latest info we have on him is that he's just under 400 lbs. For that to still be true when it's been 7-8 months since the injury is just insane to me. Put down the fork ffs. I still think we should take EDGE at #4 for what it's worth, but sheesh Becton is making it a tougher and tougher decision.
Ya I think where there is smoke there is fire right after the college season ends. After that it’s all speculative. The Jets were high on Stingley early and I don’t think have forgotten about him. I wouldn’t do it personally but I can understand if they do it at 10. KT is worth the risk. So is walker. I just think taking a chance on an edge player is aggressive and it’s almost like taking a chance on a QB.
I understand what you're saying, but potentially reaching for your 4th choice at edge rusher doesn't make a whole lot of sense either. Yes, it's a need, but there are other positions that are in worse shape on this roster and there's no way you're telling me that Jermaine Johnson is the BPA at #4.
I think that there Is really good options at Edge this year, I'm coming around to Jermaine Johnson as well the more I watch the tape on him. If I'm honest though, I don't know anymore. I just hope they get It right. I think Jermaine Johnson or KT will be the pick at #4. I thought Jermaine Johnson was a second rounder not too long ago. Now I'm sipping the Kool-Aide... Damn.
He would be the best player available as the Jets have no EDGE folks that a team has to game plan for. Nobody has any idea what Lawson will be and JFM never gets near a QB.
I prefer Johnson over KT. He's bigger played against better talent and competition. With that being said watch the Jets take KT. Hopefully the Texans take him at #3.
I like it. Not buying an OT at 4 when we've invested 2 firsts in last 2 years on oline. They love Fant and the Becton situation is overblown....they aren't giving up on him this early. CB is definitely a need, we have had an awful pass defense while our time to pressure the qb was surprisingly good. Stingley played better competition than Sauce, so he may actually be better even with worse stats. Wouldn't mind seeing Linderbaum over Burks, and getting Sky or Watkins in the 2nd.
I think OT is a possibility at 10 instead of Stingley. I could see them like Penning if Becton is a question mark. At 10 the pick could be a number players really..
